Moxie's puppy update

Congratulations on a huge litter, they all look good, Sorry that Moxie had problems but you got her there in time and she is looking good. With such a big litter you will have to increase her food tremendously, I usually give some extra like Rebel, I give a scoop of plain yogourt with their feed. Tell Moxie all her forum friends are asking for her

Then hopefully you can get a little sleep.

HA! I KNEW there would be some puppy news when I got back from VA!!!

I am so Moxie and the puppies are fine...nine is PLENTY for everybody concerned.

The markings looks gorgous!

Sooo glad the section went well, I am sooo nervous about them since a clinic burnt the heck

out of my good friend's bitch last year during one.

Will be looking forward to hearing more about them and seeing more pics!!

Glad Moxie is doing well and hope she continues to gain strength and be back to her old self soon.

Some more recent pics....Moxie looks a little more with it in these ones!!

I forgot to add, that the 2 groups for feeding didn't last long!! Moxie heard a squeak in the box with the group not on her, and she HAD to have them with her!

So I'm just making sure they are all getting some food!! I did get an hour or two of sleep....part of it with Moxie on top of me....crazy girl....had to stick with her all morning, or she got very agitated....but she's settled down now, and she's slept most of the afternoon with her pups!

Yes, that is on the large size for a corgi litter!!! Even just the size of the pups for that many....crazy! The weights were average weights for a litter of 4 or 5 pups!

Which is probably how she got into the trouble with her uterus.....too many pups too big! But man are they ever healthy & strong!

Normally they average 4-6 pups in a litter I think.

Yep, she had a c-section.....I don't think it affects her milk any, at least I wasn't told it would....and she doesn't seem to get upset if the pups 'hit' her incision. Her milk still hasn't 'come in', so I'm told once the udder fills in, the incision becomes somewhat hidden.

don't know the breakdown in colour/sex yet...sorry....there are 2 or 3 that I'm not sure if they'll end up dark brindles, black and white, or even possibly tris yet.....they just don't look quite as black as the ones that are definitely black & white, but they are not as light as the definite brindles!

Haha, I took some really cute pics but all they had to do was put one of the

little darlings in my arms on my way out the door and I walked out without

my camera! So now my friend has to mail it to me tomorrow!

So in the meantime....more Moxie puppy pics, please!

Wow Kathryn what a passle of puppies!!! Congratulations. So sorry about the rought start. The one time Kayla had 11 puppies I was in shock....

i had no idea corgis had that many at a time. Was at the Va Beach dog show watching with my Prissy there to hear the noises etc.... saw a lady unload two Cardis like Moxie and immediately thought bet shes had her puppies. They are just too cute.

Shelley, I watched the afgans and salukis and thought I needed a taller hound to go with the doxies.... I could go for a show saluki or afgan..... where are your pictures???? wanna trade a horse for a dog????

found the thread! and OMG me too, and i already knew it was all ok <geez> OH! i have tears in my eyes... how scary for you Kathryn!!!!! so VERY glad all turned out ok for Moxie and most of the pups, and sorry for the lost one... wow, TEN

and i was freaked out over finding homes for SIX! when my neighbor's boxer had 13 all i could think was THANK GOD THAT'S NOT ME!!! not sure how they did it but they did split the litter for nursing and were successful at it. guess Moxie is just a very conscientious mama!
