I agree with Castle Rock. While I admit I was a little shocked at the first post (the way it was worded), I don't think that the poster was trying to be offensive. The poster is located in Australia, and like in other countries, they have their own lingo. I don't see the bluntness of her post any more offensively then I do the harshness in tone of some of the others posters on here. And while this is a family forum, it doesn't mean that everyone uses the same kind of grammer, nor is it any different than when members add symbles (&^%$##^&) in their posts to get a point of profanity across.

Edited to add - Lucky Lodge, your guy is a great looking guy!

I was going to say, this person is from Australia and they also breed on a different cycle than we do. I remember a few a year or so ago that were waiting for foals in the last part of the year and oops, they were from Australia. They weren't late babies at all. I think we have to remember we are not all Americans and in the U.S. in this forum. As for the terms used, I was not offended and I kind of figured what they ment to say. I had a friend from Australia while at BYU and had such fun using American slang when I talked to her. She had no idea what I was saying.

I'm afraid that the initial thread title made some of us think it was nothing more than a fluff post rather than a serious request for help or information. That's what I took it for & didn't even open it until now when I saw the title had been changed. Even then when I read the first post I took it to be a post by a child--I just now double checked that & the OP is 13 years old---ooops, sorry, I clicked on the wrong profile, lucky lodge is 41, not 13. My apologies--the rest of my original post doesn't apply!

Lucky Lodge,
It's a sad thing when someone asks a question and all they get back is criticism of how they asked. There are many on this board that are sincerely willing to help and give wonderful and well explained advice. Then there are those that just HAVE to critique you and the words you write--as if they somehow know you from the few words you write. Ignore the way they answer--the world is full of those kind of people. But, if in their critique, they do give you some advice, forget the tone they write with, and absorb the information They may actually have great advice, but they just HAVE to be "better" than you somehow. Personally, if the Moderators didn't take down your question and statements, then I don't see where others should feel the need to be rude.

Ignoring the critiquers, you have gotten some good advice, and hopefully you'll get even more.

***this is where I get flamed!
Oofda....I VERY much agree

No, thank you Lucky Lodge for being so good about this!!!

I am sorry you got such a frosty welcome, but, honestly, you did come off a bit "strange" in that first post!!!

Anyway, welcome to the Forum and I hope you stick around and get some good advice.

Also, you can download a free version of "spellcheck" here

I could not write a post without it, believe me!!!

As I said in my frosty post, I would really get yourself some physical help, we will always help as much as we can, but there is absolutely nothing to beat someone actually there.

Do yo have a good, horse trained, Mini savvy Vet?

You might need one.
