I told them this morning of my plans for this farm,....and that is what they said to me.

I want to cut down some of the bushes around here to make more yard space,.....and move the 2 sheds over by the barns,....I want a paige wire fence for Foxy and baby,...with painted fence posts and rose gardens everywhere,....

I want to paint our house and barn MATCHING colors,.....and landscape like crazy and totally fence in our entire property with gates at our driveway that open and close to let vechicles in,.....so that our dogs can have access to our entire property without fear of them going on the road.

but,..my family thinks that I am nuts

Ahh dreams are great l've learned to dream in steps not to upset my other half all at once this way takes longer but the end result is the same. Dream on. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Actually you are not dreaming the impossible.

Tell them not to look at the big picture, but rather focus in one one project at a time. Start with the smaller things that you can do on your own, then go from there. Might take you years and years but it can happen for you.

Set your sights high and settle for the best you can do.

My place was a falling down junk yard when we moved here. No pasture to speak of, unless you consider acres and acres of garbage on grass a pasture. Took us three years of hauling out stuff to the dump and burning off what junk we could here. There is always plenty to do and things I want to do, but that takes time and money. But we have come a long way baby from where we were.

Believe in your dreams.

I don't think you're crazy at all! Your mistake was in presenting the "big" picture instead of breaking it down into smaller pieces like Marty said. I had a "big" picture in my head(my husband has no clue) and we're probably half-way there now. Just have to keep knocking off smaller projects one at a time! This spring I have one more fencing project and then the fencings done :bgrin ; and I'd really like to put a new roof on the barn.

I know I've nearly given my husband heart failure a few times, when I've told him things I'd like to have.

One day we were driving to town, we drove by a huge indoor arena; I said "I want one of them, someday", well he about went in the ditch. There are a lot of things I would love to have, but for us location and finances don't allow; so we make compromises.
