Hi everyone! Well.... as some of you may know i was raised & grew up with the big horses (quarter horses) all my life and had been riding since I was 3. My whole life has been based around the big horses up until a few years ago (back in the fall of '05)... then found love at first site (my minis!!!!! And NEVER looked back). I sold my last big quarter gelding I strictly did dressage on 2 years ago.... I've NOT missed the big horses ONE bit...... until this fall some friends of mine have been bringing thier horses over to my mom's indoor to ride and I've been riding one of thiers (not the same though).... and so have had a "small" itch to get the nitch for a big horse again...... but decided I would go with a weanling if I could find one that was put together good enough and was for the right price... they are dirt cheap right now.... cheaper than the minis (hard to put that into perspective).. but found one that was really well balanaced and put together and already GELDED!! And very halter broke and use to being handled..... all my qualifications... He was located in the middle of MO and lucked out on finding the right shipper at the right price!! Many thanks to Cindy Coffman for her and her husband hauling him for me! But I STILL LOVE my minis..... they will always be #1! I've had Cash here now for a good month now and at first I thought WHAT AM I THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? He eats for what 3 broodmares of mine eat or 4! Ugh! But...... I kinda feel totally "FULL" (which is deffinately the reality of it!!)..... At first after he was here a couple of weeks I was kinda thinking 2nd thoughts..... but he's a GOOD LOOKING guy and has big DOE eyes....... and think I would kick myself later on if I sold him...... I got him TOO cheap for the quality and will beable to enjoy riding him later on! And can start him the way I would want too! Which he will be started as what a dressage horse would be started... but later on will like to do everything on him.... dressage, trail riding, roping and or reining or what ever his tallent lies..... I do know he can clear a 5ft pannel with little effor! (fixed all my loup holes in my pen RIGHT AWAY! I've been really spoiled with the minis!!!!! But is kinda nice to have "A" big horse back in my life.... But thought I would share with you all with my "last" BIG suprise of the year!!

He's beautiful! I personally am not going to ride anymore (sold my riding mare this summer) but I can certainly understand wanting to! I do miss it some, but really just miss the horse.

But she weighed 2000lbs and ate about as much as 8 or 9 of my minis, but still miss her. (Just don't miss the feed bills)

Congrats on your big guy! LOVE his rear end.

I miss riding and am looking forward to having a riding horse again in the future.

Thanks guys! Yeah.... I kinda really bought him at the wrong time of year and should of waited til' I got my horses over to my new place.... I'm moved over to my new house (will be showing pictures soon!) but the horses are still at my old place ( a mile down the road from me).... But just couldn't get all my pens moved over and my shelters were not ready before winter hit.... so it will be closer to spring with the way the weather's acting before I ever get them moved over here. The other reason for getting him now is the prices are always allot cheaper in the winter, no one wants to winter them..... so I decided now would be the best time. And where I knew I was going to be beasy with getting things done on my new place.... where I'm not pressured to ride and with the weanling.... I could take my time. And over at the new place Cash will have a whole 15 acre pasture to himself (I may try to board another horse (a frined I know is wanting to board with me)...

Cash REALLY seems to LOVE these minis! Tempting to put one of my bigger ones with him.... I actually would be worried about one of the minis hurting him than the other way around since he does not have mean bone in his body and just LOVES these guys. All the broodmares & SockIt are next to him.....

And I actually have been feeding him like my minis with the beet pulp & oats.... and he gets a "whole" flake of alfalfa twice a day and then has grass hay infront of him 24/7....... I like doing the beet pulp & oats.... and no high protein grain (the alfalfa is high quality)...... and with the big horses..... where he's pretty good sized.... I don't want to worry about physitis (miss spelled) and his joints growing to fast and causing problems.....

But he's fun..... and sweet.....

OMG!!

:yeah

He's a nice looking guy, I'm sure you'll enjoy riding again. I'm glad Cindy and her hubby were able to help you out. Cindy is a sweet heart I just love her. I sold my biggy to get 2 more mini's and every once in awhile I'll miss my horse but I don't miss riding really. If I get the urge I'll go take a ride in my cart with my guy pulling it, that's the closest I want to come to riding anymore. Have fun and he's really a pretty boy. Congrat's.... TJ

Lately I have been thinking a lot about my riding horses that I sold almost 20 years ago! I still miss them and miss riding but I don't know if i have the confidence to ride like i used to.

He is stunning, i'm sure you will have a ton of fum with him

Congratulations!!!

If the track at La Mesa Park in Raton opens we will be sporting some big horses too!

Oooohhh congrats I am so jelouse!! Id go back in a heart beat (sorry my minis). I love the lil guys ALOT but riding was my passion and the minute I can do it again I am so there!!

...... Thanks Guys!!!! I appriciate that! Yeah Cash really reminds me of my last big quarter gelding (mind wise).... Cash is SUCH a good boy.... you would not believe HOW much he likes these minis! I guess being a baby and not having anyone else and he can stick his head threw the portable panels in the barn and he just LOVES these guys! So cute to see! You can just see to he's very happy.... He has BIG bambi eyes..... I can tell he's very sensitive and should be really easy to train... Yeah.... I do look forward to the day that Cash is old enough.... I just LOVE training these guys big or small..... Just a blast to own anything equine, I think!! I just love to see what I can accomplish with them! I will have to get some more pictures of him sometime soon, I hope. My new show (mini) show gelding, Chico, is coming late Saturday night.....so maybe on Sunday if the weather's decent I can get some pictures of the guys then!
