Painted on slate.. Not the greatest as I don't paint much and still haven't worked out how to paint details etc.. The sketches were MUCH better

Are you going to seal it upon completion?
No idea what to use! Any suggestions? I've done a few others but all but one have stayed inside.. I did one with bluebirds/bird-house for my aunt and she put it outside under her bluebird house and it's done well in the weather, no fading or running of the paint..

if it is going outside it would be best to seal it. polyurethane would be the best thing to seal it with. minwax makes some that is shinny kinda shinny and not shinny. but word of cation it might react with the paint you used. Test it first on another rock. If it does react you can use water base polyurethane to seal off the paint and then go over that with oil based. Just do not use water base over oil base as it will blister.

Hope that made some since.
