My Old Kitty is gone

I'm sure one of my dear old man cats, Ki, has gone off to die. I haven't been able to find him since yesterday afternoon and since he never goes outside and hasn't for almost a year, I think he knew it was his time. His buddy has been crying big soulful cat cries since about 3:00 am so I'm sure he senses it too. Like all things in this life there is a season but it doesn't hurt any less to lose one when that time comes. He turned 20 in July.

Oh Shirley, I'm so very sorry. These small souls work their way into our lives and our hearts. 20 years is a tribute to your love and great care. I'll say a prayer for you all. I have a very pretty BIG spayed girly white calico long hair who was given back to us when the owner moved back to LI. Just a thought. Hugs for your sadness.

Oh I'm so sorry. I can't wait for this year to be over. I've lost so many pets this year. I know how sad and painful this can be. Just remember what a nice long life he had and that his angels took him in his sleep.

Oh I'm so sorry. We have so many little animals around here it is such a sad day when you lose one of them. At 20 he must have lived a great life with you and now it was just his time.

wow 20 years is probobly double what most relationships last. What a huge part of your life he must have been. I am so sorry for your loss but obviously you have done right by him. (doesnt make it any easier though)

My goodness, 20 years is a wonderful long life for a kitty. He was a pretty one, too. He looks like our LeDoux.

Thank God I found him!!! He was in some bushes under leaves and at first I thought he was dead until I lightly touched his head and he moved. He's very weak and was chilled to the bone but is not in pain. He seems to be going through a normal death process which i have seen many times in my life so I will allow him to die at home in peace. I owe him that. He was always such a beautiful good boy but is only a shadow of himself now.

Although I don't expect him to make it through the night, at least he will not die alone in the cold. I have him under a blanket with a pet bed warmer and have told him I love him and will be with him to the end. I am so grateful I can at least be able to say goodbye to him.

My heart is breaking, what more can I say.

I don't know whether to say that I'm glad you found him, or I'm sorry that he's probably on his way across the rainbow bridge....but (((HUGS)))

I've always wondered if I'd feel better having found our cats that have done the same, or whether I am better off not knowing....
