My Son Started Special Olympics Bowling Yesterday!!!!

[SIZE=18pt]My little boy was in Special Olympics bowling last year and got picked to go to Sectionals. From there, if you place gold in your division, you are put in a drawing to go to Summer Games. Well, he placed gold at Sectionals last year and his name was drawn to got to Summer Games. How exciting!!!!

: He really enjoyed himself and has asked just about every day when he could go back to college, as it was held at Penn State! :lol: [/SIZE]

Our local Special Olympics Bowling started yesterday and he was thrilled! I guess he talked about it all day at school. It was funny, though ~ we pulled into the local bowling alley and you could just see the confusion on his face!

He thought he was going back to Summer Games at "college"!!!! :lol: Too funny! We had to explain that he has to bowl his best everytime to see if he can make it back to Summer Games.

: He did really well. He has to bowl with a ramp, as he isn't strong enough to even lift the ball himself. He isn't able to walk without help, so I walk him up to the ramp. He bowled a 95 the first game and a 99 the second! :aktion033: Just thought I would share our excitement!!!

Sounds to me like your little boy is QUITE the little man! My husband will be SO jealous of those scores!

He is in a league and bowls weekly and rarely bowls that well! Big Congratulations to your son! WOOOHOOOO!

Oh how EXCITING!!! My brother has bowled in the special olympics before and just LOVED it! I think this is such a wonderful program! Give your boy a HUGE hug for me, and I'd love to see a picture of his smile while bowling, I just know it's enough to melt ANYONES heart!

: I'll also try to get some pictures of him bowling this year. It's just kind of hard, as my hubby and I walk him up and one of us grabs his bowling ball and the other grabs his ramp.

I'll figure out how to get some pics, though!!!!
