Finally a moment to myself...

With the muddy conditions we have and a lower barn that repeatedly floods despite digging trenches and drainage holes through the walls (although not as bad as before), today was a day of fun.

I haven't had the Morgans out on the longe lines so we went out into a non-muddy area of our field and I let them play, one at a time. Enterprise is well behaved and sensible and showed she still remembers her lessons from fall and she got some grazing time that made her very happy.

Weatherly is a month older than Enterprise but not as mentally mature as Enterprise so we had to go through a few temper tantrums - a 15.0 almost two year old Morgan can really get some air...she settled down to work a bit without any more tantrums and we went down to our pond. She walked on the line like a lady.

Weatherly is a water horse - she was up to her chest in the water, pawing and splashing... then she swam (still attached to her line) and got out and gave a mighty shake like a wet dog. I was finally able to lead her around the pond without her blowing up and we did a little more work when I got to the flat ground and she squealed and just had to run and buck a little more... then it was grazing time. I feel like we made a lot of progress this weekend over the two days...

Nefertiti then had her turn and she was full of herself... snorting at every step of the way, tail held up like the statue of the Chinese celestial horse (my favorite piece of horse artwork of all time). She is filling out and I can't wait to clip her to see what she looks like underneath her hair - I cannot feel her ribs like before so that is a good thing.

The minis are enjoying tearing around... Independence was unusually feisty and was chasing Enterprise around and was on her hind legs trying to instigate a fight with Freedom... and Mercy was just watching it all.

Hope everyone had a good weekend... looking forward to snow here!
