This past pay period (2 weeks) I have been crazy busy - working tons of hours, teaching, etc.... to the tune of 142 hours. It doesn't seem like that much until you figure out that I usually work 40-50 hour weeks! Good grief. Anyway..... I get to go home and relax without thinking about going back to work for 5 day!!!! Does anyone have any ideas how to make those long weeks seem a little more bearable? I know some of you work crazy busy hours too, I just don't want to feel run down...

I also work some very insane hours. It was up to 70 hours a week not too long ago. But since the baby is due on Sunday I've been able to get away with 35 hours a week. It feels so weird. To help myself cope with the long hours I would take a walk around the building on my lunch hour. We have a nice little patch of woods that the deer really love. Its quiet and the outdoors has always been good to help my energy level and calm my anger (I work with a both of adults that act like preschoolers). I wish I still worked for Old Sturbridge Village. Long hours there were great. Only job that I've ever had that I could go iceskating in the winter and visit the newly born lambs in the spring on my lunch. Very relaxing.

A strange little man once told me "Do things to the best of your ability and have fun doing it! You don't want something to become a job!"

Sometimes work is just work and it's going to be a drag no matter what you do.

For me, being a smart A is how to pass the day. I give everyone a hard time and share stories of the idiotic things that I've done. One good thing about your line of work is that you get the chance to meet new and interesting people. Make them tell you stories (if they can). I love story time.
