Renee ,

I guess I am going to be the wet blanket here , as I have to tell you since I last talked to you , I recieved my Journal,

Look at the list of past National Grand Champions, the first one was recorded in 1988,, So I called a couple of people including Larry Parnell that has been there for all of them, and he says it is ONLY 24 years.. So Next year will be the 25 years...

And I will be right there with you to celebrate that with bells on..

Cool - so we've got a whole year to plan it right!

Well Shoot, but Larry doesn't know everything and we don't have to live by what he says anymore. He told me two time that there were two other years. So we will see what the board says.

Oh, I visited with Belinda a couple times and I told her what the Journal said and she said that was wrong. I'll wait and see what the Board says. There was a lady on awhile ago that said she had a trophy with National title written right on it from before.

And then there is Karen with documented proof of years before.

But there was NEVER a AMHR National show held in Ca.. That was more than likely the IMHR ... before it merge with AMHA and if not all I can say is with everyone I have had looking for info there has not been a National show called the AMHR Nationals before 1988, I have been on the phone with the office and we have gone back through the Journals back in 87' & 86' 85' 84' and there is no record of AMHR National shows prior to 1988. Sorry but guess that is the facts as we can find them..

But I will be glad to be the First to donate to the cake fund for the 25th ... Mark me down for a $100

shoot. Why did you and Larry both tell me there was other Nationals earlier? Two times. Oh and I called and emailed the office two times and, got they would look into it, never heard back. Got my hopes up. Oh well, will have to do some thinking about this year.

But I am still sending in my proposal as this can't be a "you and Larry say it so thing." I want the board to make it official.

And maybe if it is 25 next year is gives us more time to make it a big deal.

The hundred bucks sure sounds good though. Will match you. If the board finally decides when it is we will have Cake coming out of our ears.

Cupcake Wars is on either food network or travel or something like that (I think food network). They have 4 cupcake company owners compete. They have some kind of big function coming up, and the 4 bakers compete to see who gets to provide cupcakes and a display for the event. I don't know if they travel or if they only do California, but might be worth checking! They have some AWESOME bakers and cupcakes!

AMHA had the "National" show prior to AMHR. Shortly after AMHR started their "Nationals" AMHA changed to "Worlds"

But I am still sending in my proposal as this can't be a "you and Larry say it so thing." I want the board to make it official.
Renee that is fine !! I sure don't want it to be a Me and Larry say so thing either.. But then all I was trying to do is help you with your cake deal, Not a big deal to me either way , just makes me older if it is .!! Heck I could not even count my own sons age right and he was born in 1988 , so there you go , Heck I have been thinking he was 24 and he is only 23 .. So guess I better give up trying to help you count to 25 !!

But when we ( the board ) meet I will let you know what the outcome is and the offical age of AMHR Nationals,, Zona is going to pull out the Journals from 80 on thru 88 and see what she can find..

The more I think about this the more I agree that the directors have to go with whatever the Journal says. As many mistakes as there use to be in it, it is our only record. I remember putting ads in the Little Journal and many times them coming out wrong so they would just give you credit to do another one. (Stallion names and sizes wrong under pictures) But still, it is all we have. That is why I think the Journal is so important.

Guess I was disappointed as I can hardly bear thinking about some of the stuff going on now- Starving Horses, Rescue horses. Maybe I'm just living in a little bubble, but what does it hurt to think about and want to celebrate some of the good stuff we have done. But will have to wait for a year if that is the case.

Thanks Belinda, I think we could get some of those old boys to dig in their pockets if they thought there was going to be a good cat fight. Come on Boys -Pony up- for the party-whenever.
