Hi,,

I am new to this board and to the Mini world :)

I purchased a pretty cute buckskin tobiano stallion, and guess I would like to know more about his lines. Is there someplace online that you can go to research bloodlines? I was told the sire was Registered, his name was Sweetwaters Sire Lancelot II. His dam was also registered and her name was Mountain Rose. I was told that they were not in the same registry, so assume the sire was AMHA and the Dam was AMHR. Is it possible for this guy to be registered now?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

The only way to register him is to hardship him into the registry of your choice.

As for researching bloodline ---- Once I see the name Sweetwater I stop there. Along with a lot of other people I do not trust any paper with that name on it. Oh yes there are a number of nice Sweetwater horses but you can not trust the pedigree.

Just enjoy the horse for what he is.

The only registry (between AMHA and AMHR) that will hardship would be AMHA. AMHR will no longer hardship unregistered horses. Once the horse is registered with AMHA you can then register with AMHR. A fair amount of money will have changed hands by that point.

To hardship into AMHA the horse must be 34" or under and be at least five years of age. You have to pay the fee and a current or former Director has to inspect the horse.
