Hi there,

I am considering going into miniature donkeys with special colors and very very small..

What are the smallest sizes? Is there a donkey registry like the AMHA.

Are they measured at the withers or somewhere else? Do appy donks exist?

So many questions because I need to learn before I take the plunge...who would be the most famous miniature donkey breeders?

:bgrin

American Donkey and Mule Society (ADMS) ADMS LINK

Also a good place to find breeders listed by state is Gotdonkeys.com

Here is the link: GotDonkeys

If you got to ADMS it has lots of information listed about the registry and donkeys.

Donkeys are very enjoyable!!!!! I raise Blue-eyed Ivories, if you look on my donkey page there is a link for Ivory Genetics that is very informative! (my site is in my signature)

My friends the Shorts in Eddy, TX have several donkeys that are 30".

As far as if there are appy donks.....not really. There are spotted donkeys of various colors but none are the "appy" spotting. The website Cowgirl listed is a good one.

The other registry is IMDR

I have a spotted boy who is 30" at 9 months old so I hope he remains small
