Christmas is over (YES!) and we are approaching the coming of a new year. So what is your resolution or are you even making one?

Mine is to totally quit smoking By March. I say March because then it will be starting to warm up and I can be outside more, which should help!

my resolution is not to make a resolution hahahaha.

It might not be a resolution but I am resolved to build a new life. If anybody has suggestions feel free because there are jus t so many things to consider I do not know where to start.

Mine is to get the dang barn finished and the fencing finished so I can bring the 2 mares home that are still at my sister's. Since I got tools for Christmas, I think I can do it!!!!

Mine aren't really resolutions, but they are more like goals to me.

Personal:

Lose a little bit of weight

Stay on Honorroll

Horse-related

Stay away from buying foals next year unless they are unbelievable. Concentrate on older fillies or mares.

Finish Dusty's training

Go to nationals

I have the same one that I made last year.

That was to work on myself to make myself a better person.

I have had to work on patience and to be more understanding. I've had to learn to chill instead of always going "what in tarnation.................?" and freak out so much over everything. I've had to learn to lighten up a lot around here and not view everything that doesn't go according to plan as a crisis.

I'm a lot calmer now but there is still so much more I have to work on.

Vic, I don't have any real words of wisdom for you, wish I did.

All I can think of is what I would do if I were in your shoes and that would be to stop looking at the big picture; it's just too overwhelming.

Instead, I would take baby steps and I wouldn't be in a big hurry.

I would take things as they come, and try to make a list in my mind of what had to be done first, and put things in the priority of what has to be done now, and what can wait till later.

I would control the situation and not let it control me anymore. I'd get fed up and take the reins.

I would address just one thing at a time, solve that thing, and then move on to the next.

Before you know it, all the things will fall into place.

My resolution is to make a million bucks. Hubby's is to spend it!

I think his side is going to be much easier than mine.

Mine is to get my finances in order. Maybe find a way to increase my income. I am also determined to get both of my mares broke to drive, and get the filly started ground driving.

NOPE......I will not make promises I can't keep...and everytime I make a promise to myself all heck breaks loose so that it becomes impossible

I have set some goals for the coming year but those are steps toward a very specific plan so they are open to change and or different timelines......

I don't make just one resolution a year. Instead, I resolve daily to make myself a better person and make the world around me better.

l've never known anyone to stick to a new years resolution made this time of the year most fall by the wayside before they get started. Resolve to make them throughtout the year and you have must better luck. Over the years l have said l would loose weight stop smoking and be nicer... none of them have happened yet. l did resolve to stop drinking all pop last March and l've stuck to that so hopefully it'll work for the other 3 when l'm ready to commit.

yes.gif
IF YOUR LIKE ME YOULL NEED IT

My resolution for next year is to stop worrying as much... so much has happened this year that I can do nothing (or very little about) and have about driven myself to a breakdown! I am resolved to let things happen, and just accept things as they are.... Basically, I'm just gonna get a tattoo of the Serenity Prayer on my forehead so every day when I look in the mirror I'll see a reminder...LOL.

Well I like the thought of resolutions, but really havent made one in years...The last time I made a resolution was when I was in my early twentys. I promised myself to get a new job, different apartment and car and did it all with in six monthes. Well were talking eons later here and I just dont have the gumption that I did back then! But I do have a few things in mind for 06 - one being to loose a little poundage ( is that a word?
biggrin.gif
), another being to work on training with my mini's and donk. Not that they need it - I'm talking cute things like tricks and stuff.
yes.gif
And I do have a couple of other goals - but I will keep those to my self for now. Lori

Can I change my mind to have Minimule's resolution? She's going to make a million bucks.

To heck with working on myself.

I'll take the money.
biggrin.gif

I love you Marty, Sure you can! I bet if you put Timmy up for auction on the LB board with all his scrunchies and bows that million would be on the table in No time flat!

I have a few, and I always stick to mine!

I will finish school and graduate, then get into the next level of school and go for my MBA!

I will pay off All of my little dangling extra bills by April. (Between vet, car, and horses >Total amount about $8,000)

I will go back to the gym and re-discover my 6-pack that's currently coved in my, ahem, Winter Coat.
wink.gif

I will sell at least 2 of next years foals, and if I Do keep 2, I Will sell One of my other horses.

I will find another mare with either Red boy or Buckaroo linage to add to my herd.

(and just to be snotty, she will be a Bay!
smile.gif

I will expand business and grow my clientle by at least 20%!

I think that's enough for one year!!

Well, mine is to loose weight and hopefully look at least almost as good as my horses will come show season. One bad thing about showing minis is you can truly be as big as your horse...
