Connie,
My niece has Celiac, and can not have ANYthing that has even TOUCHED something with wheat flour of any kind... she even has to use a seperate toaster for her bread made of other flours!!
Sometimes those type of things are related to an auto immune issue.... have you been tested for any of those?
There ARE other alternatives of things to eat. Since my SO's bout with Lymphoma, I do not use white sugar any more either. We use stevia, which is very good. Also quit eating processed foods and went back to just cooking real stuff.
Make SURE you are reading the labels on everything you buy. Many things from vitamins, to mustard, catsup, salad dressings, and all sorts of things have sugar, wheat gluten or something from wheat, etc.... Some folks with Celiac also develope lactose intolerance as well. The damage to the intestines can be healed with time..... I am beginning to wonder if some of my problems are not related to something like this.... Also, many people with Celiac, also become lactose intolerant as well. (I have that and also Raynauds)

My niece and her sister are in the process of putting together a Celiac website, not done yet, but she is FULL of info on this problem!!
I recommend that you be tested for Auto Immune problems with a blood test! They can tell if you have this, or something else, and can narrow down if you have an Auto Immune issue, then of WHAT. This is many times NOT just a food allergy problem. Insist that your doctor take a look at this!!
