I am so proud of her! I have a point to prove in the show ring.
That point is that our beautiful horses do not need to be made up to look like plastic toys! They are 'naturally beautiful' and as far as I'm concerned should be judged on their more natural apprearance.
I am taking Willow out into the show ring without half of her mane clipped off. She has no bridle path cut into her at all. She has a thicker neck than most minis in the ring but I will NOT put her through sweating her neck. She does not wear any makeup in the ring either. I especially hate that glossy black goop that is used sometimes. What you see with Willow is all natural and that is what I want the judge to judge her on. Yes, she has been clipped, but even then it was only a touch up as she had almost shed out all of her winter coat anyway. I had so many comments on her beautiful glossy coat and how healthy she looks.
My lack of effort with her beauty routine has just won us 1st and 2nd place this weekend!
1st place in a class of 3 in her filly/mare class and then a 2nd place in my handler class!
Go Willow, my naturally beautiful girl.
I just knew had what it takes.
My friends son took her into her last class of the day. By this point everyone was tired as you can see.
