Last night, my Dusty cat didn't come home. That's quite normal for a tom cat, but not for Dusty. He has to sleep under the carport and I have to give him his love before bed, it's just what we do. Well, I took the girls to school this morning and ran to the grocery store. When I came home, Dusty was on the carport crying. He couldn't stand up and I think his back was broken

I think he got hit by a car, but there wasn't a mark on him. So I loaded him up and took him to the vet. There was blood in his urine and he was in shock. Their x-ray machine was broken so we couldn't do that, but I went ahead and had him put down. It was so hard and he was so scared, but he's not hurting any more.

Good bye my sweet Dusty

Awww, Steph. Dusty is a beautiful little soul! I know you must be crying.

Be glad that he knew to come home and that you could take away his pain.

Blessings,

MA

Steph, I'm so sorry about Dusty. So often cats will go off on their own, but he chose to make what was probably a supreme effort to make it home to you. He obviously loved you very much.

Ohhhh poor littel Dusty!!! What a sweetheart he was!!! How sad this had to happen to him, but take peace in knowing that his pain is all gone now. I am so sorry!!!

I am so so sorry Steph. Many ((((((((Hugs)))))))) to you! You did the right thing. He passed knowing that you loved him which is more than many pets get to know. May God comfort you and may you find peace in knowing that your Dusty knew that he was loved so very much.

What a super little guy he was, to struggle back home to you. My condolences, he was a very pretty cat and obviously a special one.

I am so sorry Steph, I was just going to say what has already been said, he came back to you because he knew you would take care of him. He was a gorgeous boy, God bless you for having the strength to do the right thing!!

Steph - it does sound like he did everything he could to get back home to you... of course you did the right thing, but that sure doesn't make it any easier.

Big hugs,

Liz R.
