Well, another day without power. Yes it is very very cold. I threw away 10 big trash bags full of groceries today out of our two refrigerator/freezers.

: We are so lucky that we have family nearby that does have power. So we are doing okay. Thank you for your offer of help Leia, I appreciate it! :saludando: But basically all we can do at this point is sit and wait for our power to be turned back on. There was major damage to the lines and a pole on our road, so I was told this morning to be prepared for 4 to 5 more days. We are getting into the groove of things though, so oh well, that is just the way it goes!!!

Oh YUK, Amy! That is the pits! Are you able to water your horses okay? (That was the worst part for many of us -- having an electric pump for water!)

Oh, and the positive side? You don't have to cook! Right???

Yay we finally got our power back at 10:45 tonight! We all made it through safely but it sure was a hard go of it. The horses had no water Friday and Saturday so I trucked it back and forth from my house in 8 new garbage cans. Now things are just frozen up due to the drop in temp. Oh well I can't complain. At least I have a clean, but empty, refrigerator

WOOHOO!!! Power returns!!! I was doing a happy dance at 12:30 a.m., when the light from the master bath woke me. I got up, danced around, turned on the faucet and flushed the toilet! Danced some more! Took off the heavy robe I have been sleeping in over my tee shirt. Went back to bed a happy girl!!! :aktion033:

Got up at 4:30 and the heat was still pumping away trying to warm up the house, but the water was warm to wash my face!

Shirley, I said the same thing about my frig! At least it will be nice and clean!

We had to take tubs in our truck to fill for horse water. Oh we have had plenty of time to make up all the ways we are going to do better next time something like this happens, that is for sure!!!

#1 thing...make sure the generator will actually work!!!

Glad to hear you guys are ok

Wish I lived closer and could help out.

JJay
