Well as you know if you have been following our little Saga, Flirt and I have been in training with Patty Cloke for a while now. I have also been taking lessons from Patty with my mare Ally. We have all been learning A LOT, and having a lot of fun doing it, too!

I have not taken Ally to a class in a few weeks, since my daughter (person type!) is about ready to have a baby and I do not want to be stuck somewhere with a fully hitched horse, truck and trailer when she goes into labor. So I asked if I could use a school horse until after Jessica foals out, I mean gives birth. :aktion033: Patty has a lot of school horses, so that was just fine.

If there is one mare in the world I just can't get enough of it is JS Nashville's Elegance (Sassy). OMG, that mare is so beautiful to me I can't peel my eyes off her when she is in the ring. Patty has said over and over how much Flirt reminds her of Sassy and I say :488: because in my mind there is NO higher compliment. And as Flirty has gone through her training, she has gone through the same kind of phases as Sassy did. So more similarities and I am just FINE with that!!!

When I got to the barn yesterday morning Patty says, "I need to get you up to the next level because you are going to be driving Flirt in a month. I think we will have you drive Sassy today." OK, get me the smelling salts because I think I might pass out from happiness!!! :risa8:

Well all I can tell you is that it was every bit as much fun as I thought it would be...she is awesome and so beautiful, I can see those beautiful legs flick up in the air from the cart and I think she is like a ballet dancer. I had the best drive of my entire driving career, she is like a little sports car and so responsive, my back and shoulders which usually hurt when I drive were not painful at all, I just soaked up the experience because this is exactly the way it should be. Heaven! She is quite a pair with her owner George, an elegant gentleman and his beautiful horse. I am sure that she and I together do not make quite the same picture as I am far from elegant myself.

: But oh, how that little mare could make anyone feel like a queen when you are in the seat behind her!

So I sure had fun in my lesson yesterday and if I wasn't totally hooked on driving already, that would have done the trick!!! I am enjoying this so much, I am really glad that I decided to go into training with Patty. Flirty has a lot to live up to now, but I think she can do it! I can't wait to get behind that little mare in the driver's seat. My new cart is arriving this week too, I can't wait to see my little girly in the ring with all of her nice gear!

Just sharing a wonderful day with all my forum friends. Thanks for reading! :saludando:

Congratulations! :aktion033: I think all who drive have felt that "high" at one time or another.

Patty is a great trainer and I'm glad you had such a great time. Driving when its taught right and you have the right horse is awesome. Can't wait to see you guys in the show ring. Linda B
