I had to go to my asthma doctor today because my asthma was bothering me alot lately. Everything checked up good, but still something down in my chest was not letting me breathe so good.

I told her about the horses and how their hair gets in the winter and she isn't letting me see the horses for atleast 10 days

. I don't know if I can handle that. I tell you what if its going to be 60 degrees on New Years Day Im going to party with them

I hope I'm not becoming allergic to my horses

Does anyone else have this problem?

Been there and done that! My daughter has had terrible asthma since she was very young. The doctor told her that often in her teens, that she should consider staying away from the horses. It was more the dust and molds and such rather than the horses for her. She would look them in the eye and tell them that was not going to happen and to find another answer. Daring young thing she was. LOL

We really found that as long as she did not feed or clean stalls she could handle everything else. Remember though everybody is different.

Get over this hump and get it under control and lungs clear than get on your preventative meds and be really good about taking them even when you feel good. Remember, what you do today is really for tomorrow. If you are not on preventatives such as Advair talk to your doctor about it. Let him know that the horses are really not an option, but a way of life for you and you need to come up with a plan that works for you.

Hope you feel better soon.

I do! My Dr knows I have horses and he just shakes his head. I just make

sure I have my medication before I go see my guys.

Will say since he changed me to Advair and the rescue Abuterol taken daily

I seem to be able to keep ahead of the asthma.

Yep. I have a mild form of asthma. It started out as exercise induced but now seems to be hay induced.

My son and I started having trouble mainly last spring and summer during hay cutting season and I do notice it after I feed the horses on a windy day. Today the wind blew some in my eye quicker than I could blink and I have paid for that dearly all day.

We have to use Advair and the Albuterol rescue inhaler seasonally. Good luck and how hard it must be to not see your babies every day.

Yep. Its usually more the dust and hay that get me than anything.

My lungs give me more trouble in the winter (normal for asthmatics)
