OK I know what I like to drive with my mini mare Maggie.

However I want to start driving my Fjord mare and can't seem to get any big

horse people to answer any questions. (Think I might just keep her,, wear a back brace when riding and see if that helps. She is also well trained in cart....)

So will ask the wonderful mini folks. <VBG>

I am shopping for a well balanced cart for a 13.3 hand fjord mare.

Am looking for really good balance, higher well padded back rest and a super comfortable ride.

Well made is also importantant. Will be traveling on the property and

down a rolling gravel rd. Prefer front/side entry. I have looked

into the Eaglet, the Back to the Country cart, a Gig, Pacific carts

(they have two but would like to know which model has the best

suspension.)

Prefer a dealer on the West Coast due to shipping costs.

Would love to hear who has what, how they like it and so on.

Also would like recommendations to good quality harness that can

take heavy everyday use... prefer Synthics but will look at leather

if it is not too heavy in weight.

Can't help you with the cart, but you may want to look at Dale Lutke for the harness. He may also have a cart that would fit your needs?

We have two harness' from him, and a cart. His work harness is half the price of a show harness, and just as good. In My Opinion

I had a frontier easy entry cart for my 14.2hh morgan cross and I was very happy with how comfortable it was to ride in. However, after getting so into driving minis, I didn't ever drive my "big" horse anymore so I sold the cart and harness. I have a mini one just like it and it rides the same.

Though this person is on the east coast, she may have a contact for someone out there. www.countrycarriagesusa.com her name is Claudette and is very helpful.

You might also try the ADS website, they have a classified section.

Good Luck!

Easy entry carts make my body parts want to fall off!

I have a mini size Country Carriage road cart which I love.

It cost me $650.00 3+ years ago to get it here. I would be scared to ask what it would be to ship a bigger cart over here now.

Gas prices were much cheaper back then.

That is why I was hoping there was a carriage company or two over on this side of the country that had carts the same comfort and Quality my mini CCR is.

You may want to email Dale, I know he was talking to someone new at Nationals, he may have or know of someone that has what you are looking for.

Shari,

If Breanna (MiniHGal) doesn't come back here and see your post, be sure to pm her. I believe she and her mom also drive their full size horse in CDE, and even if not, she has a lot of information and contacts.
