...we need to be gracious. No matter who wins, someone is going to be afraid for their family and their future. No matter who wins, someone is going to be convinced that we've done the wrong thing and extinguished all hope. No matter who wins, nothing is certain. There could be a major terrorist attack with McCain as president, or nothing change at all with Obama as president. We don't know yet. So regardless of who you voted for and which candidate wins, please remember that people stepped up to the polls and supported their choice out of hope for a better future and an honest wish that America find her footing in these uncertain times. Be respectful of that which we have in common and do not gloat and put others down. This goes strongly for both sides!! It would be very easy to cause further rifts and cross-party alienation when feelings run this high and that's the last thing we need. We're going to have to live with our new President for the next four years no matter what- let's not make it harder for our neighbors to live with than it already will be.

We're all Americans and can be proud of that. Accepting differences and surviving difficult times is what this country is all about!

Thank you, Leia.

People are just plain scared......... but everyone is seeking reassurance from different directions, so emotions have been running high. That's my take, anyway.

Well said. I hope that sentiment can be spread across the country! I said much the same thing to my parent's last night and my dad was so negative that it concerns me. I know if he's like that there are more just like him if not worse.

Very very well said Leia. We all teach our children to be gracious winners; let's try to remember to do that ourselves, no matter who wins.

Leia,

You have such a way with words, .......I would like to say you took the words right out of my mouth, but I am not that eloquent.

Thank you for posting this, it's always a very good reminder and it certainly is very true!
