I broke one when I was younger, All they did for me was tape it to the toe next to it. Maybe that will help you. Hope you feel better, Kathy

They might not be broken if you were wearing your boots.

If they are, they might be black and blue today and swelled up. Try soaking them. They might be badly brusied.

Great idea Marty, took the word out of my mouth, you might want to put some Epsom salts in that water while you are soaking. The salts will help pull out the swelling and sorness.

Yup, I'll bet on broke. I have broken my toes so many times and the foot bones too. Treasure and Glow love to tread on me. Drs have all said no cast just rest, elevate, wrap if necessary but otherwise just wait to heal. Hurts don't it? Try liquid childrens motrin a whole dose cup! Great for pain and really fast! wear a heavy wool sock on that foot in the boot, try to walk on your heel more and find some steel toed boots. I did, steel toed sneakers too!

I've broken toes galore. They hurt, but not terribly. And they just tape it up to a good toe.

Wonder if you broke a bone in your foot? Now that hurts. I missed a step going down cellar once and landed funny. No swelling, just black and blue. Husband said tough it up so I didn't have it checked out. The blankets would put weight on it and apparently push the bones together-- imagine nails on a chalkboard. What an awful feeling!! Walked on it for 9 days then couldn't stand it anymore. They put a cast on it.

Did have one foot doctor put me in a board shoe once for a broken toe. But that was most likely because I had a removable cast on the other foot because of a torn ligament.

One word to the wise on steel toed shoes. A happy full sized horse landing on those steel toes can smash them and bye bye toes.......

Well if it's the outside toes, AND if it might have gotten the outside bone, have it checked out eventually. I walked around for 4 days and eventually the toes turned black so gave in and went in. Xray showed complete fracture of outside bone displaced and I was in cast for 4 months!

Walking cast though but it took a long time to heal as the break was so messed up be me walking on the displaced bones. Guess I was a "bonehead"
