my sneaky mare Crystal..a Yellow Diamond Little Feather daughter..somehow foaled all by herself...checked her multiple times last night and there she stood..as always....zzzzzzzzzz......same place...same stance.....but this morning when hubby got up at 7...there he was..off to the barn in my jammies.....almost dried off and very strong and straight...and BIG....Crystal is my biggest mare but her sire and dam were both 30inches..so I was hoping..hee hee....she was bred to Heartlands Miracle After Dark who is a whole 27 inches...goes to show...anyway..alive and healthy especially when you miss the actual birth is always a good thing...he has the appy eye so am hoping there is something under that fuzz...please welcome our new one.. edited to add...is he black?

Edited to say...I just saw on your site you own a daughter of Jacksons White Cloud. We had him here at our place for 1 season. We kept a son of his to use for driving.

well...is it not a small world..yes we do have his daughter..she is bred to my overo so am anxiously waiting her baby....do you have any other pics of him? That was the only one I could find online...he was a pretty boy.

Congratulations! You've gotta love those sneaky mares. I owned a mare that, when I bought her, the owners said that they had never seen her foal during 5 foalings! All healthy and normal. I thought, well I'll be extra careful and even sleep in the barn if I have to (before I had a camera). I checked her one night. Her tail was wrapped. She was at 312 days. I looked at her and though...hmmm. Doesn't really look all that ready. Unwrapped her, went in to watch Grey's Anatomy. Came out an hour later and there was a big palomino filly standing there with her and her placenta was out and she was eating hay! She must have squeezed hard and thought to herself when I was in there, "Get the heck out ALREADY! She's coming!" LOL.

Awesome! Love his curly coat.
