Our first foals

[fancyappy]

...the first little buck, tiny little whinny, first little bites on our shoes. The wonderful smell of baby breath, the feel of softer than soft baby fur.

That first time they walk up to you and nibble your clothes, the first time watching them nurse, the first play battle with their mom....well you all know this so well but for us this is all new and it is marvelous.

It is leaving us amazed and grateful.

Overall seeing first hand birth and life renewing has been one of the best experiences we have had in years.

These babies have enriched our lives and brought us giggles and smiles.

Now that all the waiting and worrying is over we can honestly say we love the babies.Maybe they were not planned but they are all three a blessing.

Here are our scamps, Jasper {buckskin} 8 weeks, unnamed colt nicknamed Scamp [dark} 3 weeks, and our first foal Opal ,palomino, now 5 months.

Thanks everyone. We are having a great time with these little guys . It will be very hard to let them go.

Is it that way with your foals too? Is it a little sad to see them go on to a new home?

We are going to enjoy them now and try not to get too attached...lol...like we are not already!

He just went to his new home a week ago today, and they love him to pieces, That makes you feel really good.

Our Scamp is an Appy too...but so far no spots or flakes. Maybe the white is hiding under the baby fuzz.

My Scamp started out with just some white hairs at his first shedding. And, then, as a 4- 5 yr. old, his mane and tail started roaning. Then, last year, at 6 yrs, he got 2 snowflakes.

These were taken this spring at 7 yrs.

So, it might take awhile..

Thanks for the pics and infur little guy has a snowflake mom and dad. I am glad to see from your pics that we may get a spot or two yet. We keep digging thru his coat looking for white hairs! haha.

Thank you . We are so excited. We show our "kids" to everyone. I have pics on my desk at work!

We were thrilled to get such nice colors too. But mostly it is the personalities and antics of these babies that really make us smile.

Thank you very much. You can understand how thrilled we are.

We were so nervous and afraid something would go wrong as first timers.

We did have some problems with Jasper but we learned alot and he is fine now.
