We have had a Great Horned Owl Family on our property this summer/fall..........It's been fascinating to hear the different calls of the Dad, the Mom, and finally the Fledgling when it left the nest.

For this past week we've had the mom and fledgling roosting in our Willow Tree behind the house every day. (That's the bed.) And I've found owl chest feathers in our barn every morning when I go out to feed. (The breakfast.)

The first photo is the mother owl (we think). The second is the youngster who is being taught to hunt. I took these late yesterday afternoon while standing under our Willow.

how LUCKY you are to be seeing them!! we have lots of owls out here, i hear them often but rarely get to see them. great pictures!

Beautiful!

We have a snowy Owl in our woods but I am the only one that has seen it. The Owl has flown over Dyfra and I 's head twice now... is an impressive bird. But it seem to only show itself when I am on a horse.

Shari........

That is truly a gift! Pay attention. Your snowy owl is a messenger only for you and Dyfra.

I'm learning a lot this year from all the contacts we've had with wildlife.......

Oh....and take a camera next time!!! LOL

I think it is wonderful to have such an Owl on the place and I love how quiet they are when they fly.
