He's a cutie, for sure, however, there is NO WAY of saying if he is a purebred or not, just from looking at a picture. Why are you asking? Did he come from a pound? Actually, to me, he does not appear purebred Papillon, just judging from the ear feathering. Even at 6 months, and in puppy coat, he should show more ear feathering I would think.

If you are unsure of his background, I would think maybe he might be more of a Chi cross, or even a Papillon mix or something. As I said though, regardless, he is a cutie!!

I was just wondering because i have a friend that has a papillon that looks nothing like him. rudy seems closer to the breed then their dog. he has got a lot of ear feathering you just cant see it it covers the front and back of the ears. he came from a breeder.

hi, I have been considering for years getting one of the papillions and heard they are extremely smart & easy to housebreak? do you guys who are owners of them think that? Thanks. Lisa

I find they are smart but always easier to crate train, they do have a lot of energy, love to run and fetch...

[SIZE=14pt]Lisa, speaking only for myself and my papillon...hmmm...well...i hate to say this but she was the hardest out of my all of my dogs to potty train, i have 4 right now. she also is the only one that needs her teeth cleaned which is one of the neg. in some Papillons. like i said this is just my experience with mine, maybe Mika is just

Nikki,

hi & had to laugh about your Mika(have a cousin named that), but she is awfully cute!! thanks to all for your opinion. I have done a lot of research on this breed, but just haven't got to the point yet where I go for it.

Is he registered with AKC? or another registry? that would determine if he is indeed purebred or DNA testing. He looks to be possibly a cross just due to the coat...it doesn't look quite right.

he is sure cute though

I had a PappyXDoxie cross when I was little- body/coat/colors of a Pap, legs of... a doxie! I was six and she still made it to my shoulders when she spring-boarded at the front door.

I loved that dog- she was terrific, and I'd get another in a heart beat. I love the way Paps look, but I seriously doubt I will ever be able to afford one

They are great dogs- very friendly, happy things, as I recall.

This is my papillion/chihuahua mix and he is the greatest. He is my constant companion and is very smart. He just turned 2 years old.
