.Please read this Petco recall. I just saw this now and would appreciate your input. After we put our old dog Devin to sleep, I threw out all the dogs' pillows and blankets, rugs, and dog dishes because I thought it would be better for Amy not to have his scent lingering on everything. I then went to Petco one day and purchased Amy a new pillow and two of the mentioned stainless steel dishes in the article around the time designated. One dish for water and one for her food. I realize there is no proof that the radioactive material in the dishes are the mystery cause of her "shocks" and "episodes" I keep insisting she has had and I am not sure what to say to Petco at this point but I will be calling them to discuss it.

Thoughts please? And thank you.

If you still have the dishes, take them back to Petco and request a refund, as there is no way to be certain that the dishes contributed to Amy's episodes, about all you can do is return the items and ask for a refund based on just the recall itself.

And, if you have to, insist they take them back and return your money. What little dealings I've had wiht PetCo have been good, and they seem to stand by their products, but if you happen to no longer have the receipt or something, just insist on the return/refund (perhaps go into the store armed with a printed copy of the recall notice, just in case).

marty, can you pinpoint the onset of amy's "episodes" to know if they correspondended to when you started using these bowls? i know they have stopped (thank God!!!) but between the time they stopped and you learned of this recall, had she still been eating/drinking from these bowls?

does the recall indicate who the manufacturer of the bowls is? if so, i would definitely contact them and explain what was happening with amy! of course, they will deny any responsibility for these episodes but if they have any compassion at all, they will certainly investigate further.

i followed your threads about these "shocking" incidences and i was aghast each time i read about poor amy's problem. i was so happy to read that they have ceased!

I was a manager at a Petco for over seven years.... I am now dating the Assistant Manager of what was once my store / that's why I had to find another job or transfer.. Anyway, return the dishes and they are more than likely already informed of the recall and that product has already / should've been pulled from their shelves. If you want to replace those dishes with other Petco dishes, that's your prerogative.

My Petco pulled those dishes two months or more ago. Also, most of our products even with the Petco name are made the same places as other merchandise..

Example: Walmart stainless steel dishes are made in the same place as ours.

I hope Amy is doing well. As always - all the best Marty!

Those dishes were pulled a long while back. I do believe you can take them right in.
