We got hit hard with snow Thursday to Friday. Snow Day!

So... there's snow to move and plenty of time to move it.

I finally got some company, but every time the babies came back, one of the girls in the front pasture would call and the babies weould tear back.

It was interesting to watch.

This is taken from the end of the path I made through that right gate.

I added a play path behind the run-in-Mazie tried it out.

IMG_3126.jpg

I really wanted to leave the left gate until later,

but I wasn't too tired, so I kept going.

The mares got a play path, too.

IMG_3132.jpg

I got tired after that. And how well I slept!

Here are more of the ones who keep me so busy.

These were taken Friday--when I was rotating foals in stall, mares and Rosie out. The babies are being weaned... I can't wait for them to give up on the idea.

Tucker: "I'll be good as long as you keep the hay coming."

Mazie: "I don't WANT to be good. I want OUT!"

IMG_3109.jpg

"Pleeeese! I PROMISE I won't try to nurse!"

Mazie-2.jpg

"I won't so much as LOOK at an udder!"

IMG_3085.jpg

"Don't believe anything that girl says. More hay, please."

IMG_3083.jpg

Rosie was longing to be outside...

IMG_3100.jpg

But had to settle for half way.

IMG_3108.jpg

The babies sure were happy once they did get out!

My goodness, you did get dumped on...

Thanks for sharing those winter pictures, love to see your herd.

We have not had much, but yesterday and today have been the most we have gotten

2-5cm...at a time, sure has been cold but not much snow here...

Karla,

LOVE the photos AND the commentary!! Thanks for sharing.

Karla,

Don't you just LOVE those snow days??

I know when I was teaching, I was more excited about getting an unexpected day off then the kids were!!

You really did get a lot of snow - we have a lot, also - thank goodness our son-in-law comes and plows paths to and around the barn.

I LOVE the pictures - Mazie and Tucker are adorable - looks like they love playing in the snow. I can't believe those little stinkers still want to nurse on their Moms!!

Thanks for sharing!

holy cow you got some snow! I bet you did sleep good after all that shoveling! wowee!

Beautiful pictures and beautiful horses - what a winter wonderland you have there.

We've melted out from under ours and have lots of good ol' mud!!!!!!!!!!

AWWW!

I haven't seen everyone in forever!

They all look so fuzzy and warm. :)

How big is Rosie? Tucker?

You know I'm a sucker for the big little guys!

They look so plush and furry! I want to bury my fingers in all that fluff!

How big is Rosie? Tucker?
Hmm--I'm not sure. I'll have to stick the stick on them.
default_smile.png
I'll guess Tucker is 33 and Rosie is 35+" She's my tallest by inches. Mazie, Rosie's full sister, is a peanut, around 31". But, their dam, Gypsy, may end up being the shortest of all. I'll have to wait on shedding to determine what's going on.
