coming down the mountain on the way into work today, coming around the corner and right in the middle of the road was a big white pyranees dog.

Well it was caked in mud and shivering and shaking. I was going to stop and then knew I had to be at work i had a meeting and kids first block, went about 10 feet and turned areound and went back.

She was covered in ticks and would not come to me and making a funny sound in her throat.

other cars went by and I asked for their help but they were not about to touch that!

She was so disoriented and stuff i could not read her, but she was unsteady on her feet and i said what the heck the most that can happen is i get bit!!! I didn't think til later a bite from that size of dog could mean no left hand!!!!

I got her to my little suzuki and lifted pulled shoved her into the back seat, and man oh man did she stink!!!!

And off we went..When we got moving over into the front seat she comes mud hair ticks and all, then she reaches over the console and lays her head in head in my lap and turns her head and looked up at me like oh thank you!

When i read the tag on her collar it turns out i knew her her name is Jackie O and she belongs to the florist one town over she is 12 years old and I did reiki on her once when I went into the flower shop and she was hurting with arithris after they took her on a long hike!

I tried calling but her home line was constantly busy and I didn't know her last name or where she lived and the dog was in bad shape so i took her over to my vet and they opened up for me. Ilene said she's not one of our patients but when the vet gets here he can check her out.

Then we tried calling everyone trying to get the owners last name. They finally got her ,but i was in the room with the dog flashing her pictures of her owner coming thru the door and wow the door opened and there she was!

She said they left the dog with friends and she somehow got out 2 days ago its been pouring rain and in the 20"s up here poor thing.

Anyway please don't tell me how good i am because anyone on this board would do the same I wrote it because its a happy ending story on a monday!!!!!!!! :aktion033:

I am so glad that it was a happy ending Bonnie, and that she has a home. Seeing stray dogs tears my heart out, and I have been late for work more than once stopping to try to get a dog who appeared to be in distress, so I understand the dilemma you were in. ((((hugs)))) for stopping to help this old girl

Yay! Good job Bonnie! I usually carry a leash in my car for just this type of occasion. I bet that is one happy dog!

No no no people i don't want praises ! As we know every single person on here has and would do the same thing.

I wanted to give you a HAPPY Monday!!!!!

And besides I am whining now about what a mess my car is!! I have hair mud and ticks all thru it! A real wonderful kind real person would not be whining about it!

I have back to back readings tonight so don't know when i can get it vacumed and trust me it is not smelling or pretty in there!!

But whoever thought of keeping a leash in the car is brilliant! I am going to do that! :aktion033:

It is a much happier day just knowing what a lucky dog this one is to be home again!

What a great thing to read about this morning.

If you lived closer I would help clean out the car.

Yes, and even one or a length of good strong cord in your handbag. I found a stray dog in the subway in downtown Toronto once, and had to resort to the belt off my coat!!

I'm another who is prepared to doggone most anything too, How wonderful that you stopped and helped yet another lost soul. :aktion033: If wishes were actions, I'd have your car all done!

:aktion033: My sister just said it!

Don't worry about it no self respecting tick would live in your car anyways!!!!

Oh Bonnie! This is such a wonderful story. I feel so sorry for that poor girl! I know how much it meant to me to have the help in getting my puppy back this past spring, and if it wasn't for those that are so kind and generous as you many of us would be a lot sadder today.

It warms my heart to hear such good.

Bonnie that is great! I tell you in two days I saved two dogs that way. The first followed my kids home from Church

So they said. She stayed with us overnight until I could get ahold of the vet to see who owned her. She was so friendly and loved the kids. I called the sherriff and the vet and located her owners. We returned her 24 hours later, but my daughter loved her:)

Thank you Bonnie for making a difference and for saving that ladies furkid! :aktion033:

Kudos to you, Bonnie, for making her day (and I loved this story, we certainly do need these happy endings to keep our morale up when we hear and read so much that is discouraging).

Bonnie, I wish such a person as you lived next to me. We could use more people like you in the world. Love ya much. Guess who. Still have to get those buckets back to you.
