Would everyone PLEASE keep Mike and Nancy of Woodstock North in your prayers. I just received this from Nancy today. She is very busy and is not able to do alot of emailing at the time. Corinne I am, once again sorry for the mass emailing, just too busy to write to

everyone, so forgive me. but the best I can do.

As alot of you know MIke has been ill for quite some time now, VERY

TIRED and sleeping all the time and barely able to get through his job

at night. Doctors have been checking him for a potetial heart problem

and he has an enlarged aorta, THANKFULLY they ran another CAT SCAN on

the chest and heart, and in so doing discovered the Mike has two

nodules on his left lung that are VERY SUGGESTIVE of Malignancy.and

doctor said he could almost confirm that it is magnignant so yes we are

talking LUNG CANCER here. ( WAY TOO LATE to say darn CIGARETTES here, as

he has been a smoker for 30 years) We are now waiting for the insurance

company to okay a PET SCAN, which is a full body scan to see if the

cancer has spread anywhere else, but so far the insurance company has

turned us down on it and the doctor has called them to see why they

would not okay it, the test costs $4,000. Mike will need SURGERY

immediately if not sooner and will be in the hospital for at least a

week, and will be at least a 6 week recovery time as he will have to be

cut wide open and have chest tubes in to keep his lung from collapsing,

The GOOD NEWS is, IF there is ANY good news in this, is that the nodules

are very small and think they will be able to remove them with good

results if no more are found, He of course will have to quit his job, he

is going to try and work right up until the surgery is scheduled as

needless to say this will put a HUGE financial burden on us, but he will

no longer be able to work. How he has struggled through his job this

long is beyond me, and just shows you the GUTS this wonderful man has

to have continued. Looking back Mike has been ill for over 3 years, but

guess i was sooo focused on taking care of my Mom and keeping her alive,

that I wasn't focusing enough on Mike, altho I could tell how he was

pushing himself to keep the work around here done. Needless to say, NOW

is the time to focus on Mike. This surgery of course will be coming

right at foaling time, and Mike has always helped me with that, I am NOT

MUCH GOOD without MIke, he is the heart and soul of WOODSTOCK NORTH, and

is the official VET here, so it will be rough without him.

Will keep you updated when I can, but in the meantime ask that you once

again, keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Too tell you that I am

WORRIED SICK is an UNDERSTATMENT. Thanks, as always for listening and

for your love and support. Nancy and Mike Woodstock North

Mike and Nancy you are in my prayers and arms around you. Wish I lived close enough to help even if it was just to help with the "mare stare" during foaling.I would be willing to take a shift on here.

Maybe someone on here could do that for them douring this busy time? Nancy do you have a foaling cam?I would be willing to take a shift on here.

Oh Corrine I got the mail too. Poor Nancy and Mike sure have had a hard row to hoe, I hope many of you will include them both in your prayers.

Will add them both to my ever growing prayer list. I hope the surgery is succesfull and he gets back on his feet in no time! PET scan would be nice to see if it's anywhere else....don't know why the ins co won't okay it.

Oh no. This is so sad. Sending prayers and good thoughts to Nancy and Mike. Nancy is such a nice lady and I have admired their beautiful horses for years.

God Bless and watch over you both.

I sent Nancy some silly pictures of our sweet Appy (Woodstock North's Who's Appy Now") - she says they always cheer her up. First her Mom and now Mike - Nancy deserves to have some happiness and not all this worry!

Dontworrybeappy, I have sent Nancy pictures of our Woodstock North Topaz's foals in the past, she said she likes to see pics of her grandkids.

I hate this stuff, we met Mike and Nancy just once, got to visit with them and meet their horses. They had one for sale I regret not buying.

They were so super to us while we were there. such nice people.

Payers and best wishes go out to them both
