I just bought/rescued a pregnant mare. She's 10 years old. She was in a tiny "barn" in a tie stall next to her stallion friend (father of her foal). She's underweight, and was in a stall full of manure with no bedding.
Last year, she lost her foal. The only information I have is that she was healthy throughout her pregnancy until she foaled. But she had to foal in an extremely tiny stall. And this was possibly the cause of death. I'm talking about a stall so small she could not have possibly even had room to lay down.
She is due in 2 months. Right now, I'm trying to safely get weight on her, and hopefully help her deliver a healthy foal.
Any suggestions on what to do? She is my first Mini.
