Proud to announce our first 2009 foal

Our first foal for 2009 is here born on April 19th at 11:56pm.

Lets just say she is the complete opposite of what I wanted but still very happy.

She has a nice looking head with a pretty little star. I really didnt expect Bahama to foal, nothing was any different then the nights before. She had been pretty much ready for a week. I had just gotten to the barn at about 11:20pm and was getting ready to go to sleep in the camper since she was just eating. Then all of a sudden she started charging the door and acting really antsy. She layed down and got back up. I was like oh man looks like its time. Got dressed again and waited till she started pushing and out to the stall I went. I am so happy I made it there in time. The bag was very tough and I had to use sissors to open it. Other then that everything went smooth. I did have to stay in the stall till I could get the baby up cause Bahama kept biting and pawing at her to get her up. I think she may have been doing that because last yr she aborted 2 months early and the baby never got up so she wanted to make sure this one did.

So without further ado..... Here is Piper. Not sure on the reg. name yet. Im also not sure of the color. I'm thinking smokey black like her dad or a sooty buckskin since she has brown on the inside of her ears and the inside of her back legs.

hrs last night. So needed it. I think she over cooked a little though.. she kinda burnt a little LOL.

I was hoping for a buckskin. Oh well. Shes still sweet!

And yes that is a Findlay sweatshirt. I spent 4 yrs of my life there at the University! Absolutly Loved that college
