Oh ok, gotcha. I guess if you had an old one with not many teeth....

Thanks for bumping this back up. I'm going to compare it to the Omolene 300 my hard keeper is getting now. I'd love for her to not have so much sugar but she needs calories, calories, calories. Of course, that's hoping she'll actually eat it.
We have some hard keepers two older horses who are very hard to keep the weight on but with this feed and just upping there portion a little bit they plumped right back up to a good weight and they're hips filled out nicely too without any working as they are older horses well into their retirement

Im also feeding this to my very hard keeper. Normally, we have to feed him 1.5 quarts of Purina Ultium twice a day to keep weight on him, but he looks great on this, and only gets 1 quart twice a day

I did hear back from the Purina rep i occasionally correspond with. This feed has 1300 Kcal/lb compared to Omolene 300 which has 1535 Kcal/lb. The sugar and starch in ESAHE is only 17% and Omolene 300 is 38%. I'm still pondering my next steps with her.

Most of my horses are on the Omolene 300 but my two seniors are on this senior feed and they look fantastic. The one is a Quarter Horse and she would not eat any of the other senior feeds. I switched over to this right before Christmas and she looks fantastic. The other, Pretty Woman is a mini and I switched her over about a month ago. I am very happy with this feed.
