I want to get a new digital camera. Hopefully not a "pricey" one.

What kind do you have???

I currently have a cannon. it is fine, I just want to upgrade.

Thanks in advance.

My daughter bought a Fugi Finepix camera. Fugi Waterproof camera She loves it and it takes really nice pictures. Small enough to slide into your pocket, waterproof, sandproof and snow proof. Rechargeable battery that holds a charge for quite a long time. All in all is seems like a really nice little camera and Téa only paid $120.00 canadian for it. Good luck in your camera search. I am hoping for a digital slr camera for Christmas!! Wish me luck, I think I will need it! lol

If I want to take pictures of the horses in the paddock or show ring, I like the option of good optical zoom. Not smart enough for an SLR so I have the Canon Powershot S5 IS and will get the new version. (Also had the S3 IS) I can attach a separate telephoto lense if the original isn't good enough.

It's pricey though. around $400 I think.

If you are getting one to take photos of your minis, I can't tell you how strongly I suggest you get one with a remote. No one here seems to do a good job taking photos while I set them up. This way you place it on a tripod and snap away, Then crop/edit any photos that have arms in them (from pointing the remote).

I have the Canon Powershot S5IS also and I love it. What is the new version?

I only use the point and shoot as I havent bought any other lens to go on it. It takes great pictures I think.

Are you talking about the SX10 IS? If so, I have it and I LOVE it. My camera lives around my neck.

Did you realise that you CAN NOT attach a seperate lens to this model though? I have read there will be an adaptor bought out by in independant company but it will not be supported by Canon.

I highly recommend the SX10 IS.
