I'm not crafty so here's my ownly contribution for a quick and simple Christmas Card Holder and the kids can make these. I have a store bought one, but you know how they get to overflow and all the cards won't fit in them very easily.......so.......

I use a laundry detergent carton that's empty and get the large size because it has a handle on it.

Just cover it up with wrapping paper and glue gun some ribbon on it. I take some ribbon and wrap the handle around it too. You can also just decopauge some old Christmas cards on it instead of using wrapping paper.

If you use the smaller size ones, just poke two holes in each side and thread a ribbon through and you can hang it up on the wall.

Simple!

WHAT!? Marty, you not crafty? That's a good one...

Velvet pillows, now that's classy. They are very pretty.

TIMMY! TIMMY! TIMMY! OH my gosh Jo you shouldn't have! But so glad you did whatever it could be. How thoughtful of you. I'll be waiting at that mail box like Garfiled "gimmee gimmee" ....oh that's terrible. I really am exicted.

Ok I do have another idea for you guys:

Do you ever get out your Christmas decorations and just find something in there that you dislike? I have. I've had a few ornaments and things like little nicky nak type things that I say "this has just got to go".......well, whatever it is, tie it up in ribbons and bows and shove it in a ribbon and use it to decorate and garnish off a package with. Last year I've had this set of elves that were about 1 inch and I tell you thier faces gave me the creeps so on a gift they went!

OOH OOH Pinecone wreath! That's really festive. And so easy but lovely too.

You guys should come on over and go into our grapevines and get all the vines you want. I have about enough to make a hundred wreaths or more.

Adding to the pine cone theme: paint them with gold or silver spray paint while they are wet sprinkle with glitter, hot glue long ribbons to the ends and hang, I hang mine from my dining room chandelier. Also, firestarters: melt paraffin( Be careful Marty I read about your candle making) add a candlewick to the pine cones dip them in the paraffin put them in a basket to give for gifts.

I used to take a photo and make a stencil of it and then stencil on a t-shirt or sweatshirt. people loved it because they could recognize their pets or horses even in a stencil!

work gloves---paint or stencil on then and add a bow!

just lead me to the craft supplies! LOL jennifer

We always make ornaments for our xmas tree.....we have done felt ones which are fun just cut out shapes and colors to make santa's and snowmen I don't even use a glue gun just good old elmers.........

one year I realized we had boxes of old cards and lots of boxes of photo's so......the kids and I went through the cards and glued pictures of them over the sentiment/signature part then the kids wrote little notes, sentiments, smiley faces on the other parts of the cards then I bound these into little memory book's that they gave to their grandparents........great way to recycle old cards that were just too pretty to toss......

WE have made a wreath out of barb wire. My husband wraps it in the shape of a wreath and paints it (kind of a rusty brown color) and then I added a horseshoe or two. We don't necessarily do them for Christmas. I have mine hanging up on my barn.

These are great!

Dandy, do you have a picture of you barbed wire wreath w/ the horse shoes? I have OLD barb wire that I found on our land, like that old hand twisted type, that would look great...... If you wouldn't mine me stealing.

The pine cones are a great project for the kids too!

NOW I'm beginning to feel a little christmas........

Nope, don't have a picture of the wreath and I haven't figured out how to do pictures on here. But all you do is wrap, wrap, wrap it around and around like you would a hose. Then put another wire or two around it, paint it and hang it. Real plain, country, and simple. You can add horse shoes or anything you want to it. My husband had it hanging on a tall fence post and I stole it for the barn.

here is another wreath i did today... these arent real good pictures but you get the idea...
