I got up early this morning to let Angel (NFC Dandys Moon Man daughter) and her colt out for a run. As soon as I entered the barn I could see she had died sometime last night.

: There was no signs of thrashing or anything else, she just looked like she laid down and went to sleep. She was only 7 yrs old and she leaves her 2 month old colt. Looks like one of the other mares is willing to take him on as hers. No milk but she will watch out for him.

Vet thinks it was either a heart attack or an aneurysm.

Not a good way to start the day.

Rest in peace Angel.

So sorry for you.

Glad you have a mare that watch out for the little one and help teach manners.

Oh Robin, I am so very sorry. Is there any chance it could have been poinonig from a plant like had recently happened in Stephanie's situation, even from a neighboring farm?

Oh Robin, so very sorry to hear of the passing of your little mare. Give her foals lots of hugs and attention. It is so overwhelming to go out to the barn and find that something is very wrong. Sounds as though she crossed the beautiful rainbow bridge in her sleep and at peace.

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers on the loss of Angel.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Oh Man.

: What a terrible shock! It would probably be a good idea to find out if she was poisoned by a plant, because if you do find out that was it you can find and remove the culprit before you have further heartbreak. I am so sorry for you! Sending big (((((HUGS))))) your way.

We are so sorry for your loss....If you do have posionous plants in your area maybe that is what happened. If so you might want to have the colt checked to be on the safe side...Again we are sorry...Theresa & Art

I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel as I recently lost my miniature stallion who was only 4 years old.

I know what a horrible heartbreak it is for you.......... Wish there were words to help take the pain away.

Be kind to yourself and hopefully her little boy she left behind will give you some comfort.
