I am having a hard time finding it around my area. Do you normally buy it over the internet?

most feed stores will order it... I bought mine over the Internet....had free shipping so was a good deal....it lasts a loooooong time..

I used to order from Horse.com (Country supply), but when they dropped their free shipping with $49 order (plus FOB), I haven't ordered as much. Now, I just go where ever is cheapest with product and shipping combined, so try to wait for free shipping deals, if I can.

A 4# tub lasts the three minis I have on it, around 4 months; last time I ordered, I was placing an order with Smart-Pak and they ahve a flat-rate $7.95 s/h and I bought the 10# bucket, as the other place I've ordered from was out of 4# and this came out cheaper in the long run, but I'll have a winter supply and then some of the Remission.

Julie, I order it online. Wherever I can get it at the best price. I had a lot of success with it this year on a couple of the show horses. Really helped with their weight. I wanted to try it on a couple of overweight broodmares, but AniMed (manufacturer) said no.

Thanks guys. Guess I will start shopping around to see who has the best deal on it. I have "something" coming in this weekend that is on it and I want to continue that.

Plus, I have a stallion and a show colt that I think might benefit from it as well. Is it safe to feed to fillies and mares who are not preggers?

I asked on the forum last fall about Remission and broodmares, and someone said they used it up til last month or so, and not with nursing mares as it can contribute to diarrhea in foals. So, I left my pregnant mare on it til nearly foaling time, then took her off, she had a lovely filly June 7, and once the filly is weaned, the mare will go back on the Remission. I have another pregnant mare and she is currently on the Remission, she has good appetite and seems to be doing just fine. Both my girls are on it due to laminitic issues, and I have not seen a decrease in appetite on either (but the gelding I tried it on, did kind of go off his feed, so I took him off it). I'm not saying its ok to use it in broodmares, only that I didn't have any problems with it and my broodmare.

Smart Pak has remission? Yay! I couldn't find it on there so I'll check again. I used to buy from Country Supply as well, but also stopped buying from them once they got rid of the free shipping.
