Any one interested in being a "foster family" for a Great Dane? The Great Dane Club of Des Moines has had a sudden increase of rescues needing foster homes.

Hat's off to this club as they are very active in not only breed promotion but accurate breed information and rescue, in my opionion the mark of a very good club.
On the rescue dogs available page a good friend of mine is fostering "Levi", picked him up right before Christmas. His family had him living in a pickup topper. He was a whooping 100# (sounds impressive but he has the frame for a 150#-175# animal). This will make three danes she has, all are rescues.
If you have never been around a Dane they are one of the most "tender" dogs I've ever been around. My uncle raised them years and years ago and there are pictures of us kids literally sleeping on top of them. My old babysitter had two. I will say though if you don't like a swinging tail Danes are not the dog for you, theirs can be lethal.
