I am so very sorry Jan....The youngest one we lost was Donte` at 5 months old. It is truely heartbreaking. Hugs to you and RIP Merlot....

Just want to say, he was an awesome little stallion - all 26" of him - who never got the chance to prove himself. He would have been showing at World. He was by Final Review, and out of a World champion Affirmed Royalty daughter...and that apple never falls very far from the tree. We enjoyed him for the short time we had him, wish I'd taken the time to get some good pictures.

Oh no, so sorry for the loss of your little guy. How awful.

Sure the puncture would not be a .22 hole? A snake would have made him swell before he passed with other signs of problems. How strange.

I am just so sorry for the loss of your tiny one.
 
I saw your post on Facebook...sooo sorry for the lose of such a nice colt. I would think if it were a gunshot wound there would be blood..a snakebite would have swelling...maybe it was a blood clot...sigh..it must be hard to understand a loss when you don't have answers...(((hugs)))
