We went out today being black friday to get most of our Christmas shopping done.

Hubby fed all the minis and our fallow deer everyone was fine.

Came back home and he went out to do evening chores.

No Prince Rupert our Fallow buck did not come up for his night feeding.

Called and called and than being dark went around the area to see where he was, oh my husband was so so upset.

Poor Prince Rupert had got his head got in the fence and suffocated..

He was just such a pet, the only thing we can hope for now is that he has succeeded in breeding Dream Catcher our doe.

We will not know until end of May or early June.

We are sure going to miss this guy, bottle fed him for a couple of months when we first got him at 3 months old, and he was so friendly. He will be missed and I am sure Dream Catcher will not feel the same.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have always enjoyed your sharing them with us. He was a beautiful boy.

Oh no, I am so sorry for your loss. He was certainly special. I hope dream catcher does ok without her friend. Hugs to you and your husband.

Thanks I knew you guys would understand.

A friend of ours told us to bring Prince Rupert over to be buried today, such kind people, he would not take anything for doing this. He bought a buck from where I got Prince Rupert just a week ago, and told us that we could always bring Dream Catcher over to be bred next year if we would like too.

Prince Rupert if he had been just one year older would never have

been able to get them caught, but with the two spikes unfortunate did ...

So nice to have people that will help out in time of need.

Here is a picture of his new 2 year old buck. Again so friendly and gorgeous.

So sorry to hear of your loss, it certainly looks like he had a great life under your care.

Dan.

Feeling very sad for your loss.......What a beautiful fellow!

Thank you all for your comments..

It is hard when He was so young only 18 months, he was a bottled fed buck and

was so friendly..

Was something my husband always wanted to be able to pet and enjoy watching them both together.

Not sure what we are going to do being now Dream Catcher has no mate..

So hard to find fallow deer that are TB tested.

Time will tell.

Just keep saying why why why.
