I thought I had a Rule Book for AMHA but cannot find it. I wanted to look up the difference between Classic Pleasure and Country Pleasure.

Do I contact AMHA to get a new rule book?

I must have loaned mine out somewhere; haven't needed it in a few years.

Thanks for the link! I was looking over the rules for driving and it uses the word "show cart". Now, it's been a couple of years since I entered a driving class, but I always use my Jerald runabout EE and there were also metal EE carts in the country pleasure class. Now I am worried that nothing but showcarts is allowed now. If so, I cannot enter any classes. I emailed the show manager, but she did not know the answer. Shall I call AMHA??

Does anyone know?

I spoke to Mr Bob Kane, the show chair of AMHA, about "showcart". He said it is a generic word for carts suitable for the showring. The committee used that word to try and discourage carts that appeared ratty or incongruous with a well groomed horse in competition. He is in CA, and commented that judges there could possibly not even select an exhibitor using a metal EE cart. I can understand that breed showing strives for the highest standards.

Anyway, my wooden Jerald runabout is allowed, but I may expect to place lower than entrants with real "showcarts".

switch to AMHR. We see fewer EE carts than a few years ago but at local shows they still compete and reasonably well. I think the judges are looking more at the horse's performance than the "turnout".
