Well Tonto is getting better at driving
aktion033.gif
. I took a few pics just before the start, and it was an all animal parade ( NO VEHICLES ALLOWED) everything from Lamas to Goats. LOL. The snow fall just added to the fun!!!! He just had to stop at every dropping to sniff and away he'd go again through out the parade

. Spectators got a good laugh at his antic's.

Round trip was approx 300 km to get there but well worth the fun

Wow there's Tonto! An all animal parade. Now that's a great idea!

Tonto looks very cute there. And I love the decorations on your cart. I bet he enjoyed being out, smelling and sniffing and getting to see the other animals and the snow just added to the spirit of Christmas. I'll bet he'd like to do it again. Sounds like a very fun day for everyone.

Do you know what kind of breed of horse that is right behind him in the first pic????

Gage

Belgan, and yes all the big boys where there too! A couple "A" teams where pulling wagons but lost where they went to. Heck it sucks when ya have no one to work the camera when your pre-occupied with things

. I'm hoping someone sends me E mail pics of today.

An all animal Parade...How cool is that!

The only thing I don't like about Parades, is sucking fumes from all the vehicles we have to follow.

Beautiful pictures! I hope someone took some of you on your way along...I never get any either...but always hope.

Does he have a winter coat?!

He certainly is a pretty boy.

Your guy looks great and I love the way you decorated your cart!!!

like it says at the bottom, he lives in the house. we go everywhere together, maybe that's why we have bonded soooo good.

Oh yeah that would probably explain the short coat. At least hes happy.

Hey Bob! Great photos! I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering if you made it to any parades yet. Is this the only one so far? I wonder if the "A" teams that were there were John and Amelia (Amy) Murray and their family. I think they've gone in that parade in previous years.

Nice shots, looks like it was a lot of fun! Tonto is gorgeous!

Yup! John and Amelia were there and 2 other mini A teams from the Gordon's farm - a pair of blacks and a pair of sorrels. There were some big beauties too! A team of black percherons done up in red, green and white, a unicorn of beautiful grey Welsh ponies, a 4 in hand of Halflingers, Fiords, some really nice carts and wagons. What a fun time!

I enjoyed your pictures and what fun to have a winter parade. I always thought it would be cold and not fun, but looks like everyone is having a great time. Great way to pass the winter!

The parade organizers serve up hot chocolate, coffee and chili in the Township building free for all the parade entries. People come from miles around to see the parade - the town is packed! Everyone is so cheerful and happy you can't help but have fun even if your toes ARE freezing off! Everyone is calling Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings to each other. There are a couple churches in town on the parade route that have carolers singing on the steps and they serve lunches for a small fee to the people that come to watch. By the time the front of the parade reaches the far end of town Santa is just pulling out of the Township building at the beginning of the parade!!! It is just amazing that there are that many people today that ride and drive. It was so nice to have the whole parade fume free and moving at just the right pace - sort of like what it must have been like many years ago. There were quite a few entries dressed in period costume driving their rigs which were just beautiful. The only bad part about being in it is that you don't really get to see everything or take pictures of them all!
