The countdown is on! Sea-Tac is officially 5 days away!!! Who is gonna be there? What are you showing in? Who are you showing? I can barely stand the excitement!

Hey Nickie!!

We are getting there! Hilary has one almost all clipped and I have one about 80% clipped. Not excited. There is a little more flab on the horses and me than I like!!! Oh well!

How is your Mom doing??? Is she all ready?

I have Rio in 30"-32" senior mares, aote and ammy level 1. Then Mister is in Open stallion 30-32 probably and aote and ammy level 1.

Hilary has Dee in Senior mare 32-34"s and aote and ammy level 1. Falcon is senior geldings level 1 and aote. THAT is where my money goes!!!!

Well, the clipping is going to be taking up my whole day tomorrow. NOT looking forward to it but can't wait to see what is underneath!

Mom is doing great and she is excited too.

We are going to have a lot of classes together!!!!

I will have Shamiko in Sr Mares 32-34, Am. Level 1 Sr Mares (so excited that I am officially still Level 1), Am. Hunter, Am. Halter Obstacle, Liberty and Am. Showmanship.

I am also bringing home my new gelding from this show. Can't wait! He is in Two Year Old Geldings and Am Level 1 Geldings. I won't be able to show him Friday as we can't leave til early Friday morning. We are hoping to roll in about noon, so it will be a busy day and I will be a nervous wreck trying to find out how he did!

Can't wait to see you guys!!!

Alright Nickie spill!!!! Who will have him and what is his name??? Shame shame.....

*sounds of hyperventilation fill the room* 5 days. 5 days. Did you have to remind me we're down to 5 days?!?!

Panic officially ensuing.

It's been so cold I was considering not going as I refuse to completely clip an outdoor horse with all this mud and freezing temps, but it's warming up enough for me to calm down and is supposed to be a whopping 66 degrees this Thursday!

That's the highest temp we've seen so far this year.

Turbo is totally unclipped at this point and his training is certainly not complete but some things he's just going to have to learn under fire. I took him to the neighbor's last night and made him focus while the mare herd was gathered and staring at him and also while the resident mature stallion was out so I know a little better what form his melt-down is likely to take and how to handle it. Can we say lots of backing?

At least he didn't drop or scream, just flung his head and stomped and tried to bull into me. He'll get it eventually!

Assuming he measures in, we'll be entering:

Friday

#30- Two Year Old Stallions over 31-33

#38A- Amateur Junior Stallion Level 1

#40A- AOTE Stallions (Mister can show Turbo how it's done)

Saturday

#92- Solid Colored Stallions and Geldings

It feels odd not to enter Liberty or Obstacle or the other classes, but I'm on a budget and he's not really ready for them yet so I'll save my cash.

See ya'll there!

Luckily Leia,,,

Everyone will have little butt heads in yearling stallions! That is just how they are. They can be perfect at home and crazy at the show. Remember to try and put a tiny bit of Vicks under his nose and they should help his concentration a little!

Mister probably will not be very good either. Mature three year old stallion, and a Hilary is not showing him. She is more strict with him than I am. So I am sure he will be bad.

I have a half clipped mare and I can't finish her til tomorrow since I have to go out of town today. Yikes. And I have not touched Mister except to wash him. Glad he is grey and his coat should be fine!

LOVE the Speed Feeds I got!!!!

Hmmm, lets see........he showed last year as a yearling stallion, swapped neck ribbons with Mr. at the McKenzie show if I remember correctly, and as Heather said, she is graciously watching over him and showing him for me til I get to the show. :) Any guesses?

Ok

this is a first for me but just cant stand lurking and not sharing anymore!

YES, TOTALLY EXCITED ABOUT ELMA SHOW!!!!!!!

Nic & I (mostly Nic) shaved horses yesterday. Gosh its fun to see whats under all that dirt and hair!

They dont look half bad...but hey....we tend to be a bit barn blind.

I am completely charged as my great nieces will be coming to this show. Their first official mini show.

And its so wonderful to have more our our family attempt this crazy hobby.

Ashley and Gracie will be showing in youth classes and maybe a couple open.

Me...well...personally my favorite part is still being horse show Mom, aunt, and now great aunt.

I mean..isnt writing on the ribbon the very most important part about the whole thing?

Nic's new horse.....I think his name is Pumba...isnt that right Nic?

Oh yeah! Totally forgot to mention the kids coming with us. One track mind I guess.

My little cousin Gracie will be showing in 7 & Under classes. And my other cousin Ashley will be showing in 13-17. I am really excited that they are going to try the mini world after doing the big horse thing most of their lives.

OK Well Mom might be calling him Pumba, and I am sure before the end of the year the new gelding will have PLENTY of nicknames (especially knowing his attitude) Hilary, he is definitely your and my kinda of horse :)

Yep!! He is a SHOW horse for sure and am sure the nicknames will fly at times. "MR ATTITUDE". But he looks good. heheheheh Hoping for more neck ribbons for you Nickie, maybe even before you get there!

Heather if you and "MR ATTITUDE" win neck ribbons I will, um, I can't even think about what I would do! LOL. Hyperventilate, giggle, cry, hug you, and him (barring I can get close enough to him) who the heck knows!

All I know is that this show is going to be a "Passionate Dance". ;-)

Hilary.....is the beer packed?

Good guesses! But neither. But I will tell you that he is definitely a "Classic". :)

A classic what?
default_smile.png

I will bring something more...flavorful...buttershots and Hot cocoa. I might even share.

MMMMMM Buttershots!! Where did you say you were going to be???? LOL Oh and "Classic" is a hint a vague hint having to do with his name in a way.

So was "Passionate Dance" but I think they gave up.
default_rolleyes.gif

Heather you definitely have to join us for Buttershots.......and more. We always have plenty of food and drink for everyone! Oh, and you will know where our stalls are since MR ATTITUDE will be there.

3 days!!!!! OMG!

BYOC and BYOD

(bring your own chair & bring your own drink)

Anyone who doesnt show up....we will talk about.

And we will make things up if we have to.......

Seriously..everyone arrive safe

Sure looking forward to this season

Turbo is clipped and looking as good as I'd hoped. I'll finish his lower legs and get his mane under control tonight, then do his face at the show and cross my fingers! To my great delight Mom is actually coming with me Thursday and Friday so I'll have company and someone to take pictures. See you all there!

Leia

Edited to add: Hey, forgot to ask- is there a hot water wash rack at this facility?
