Hey guys! I posted a few weeks ago on my new doberman puppy that my dad surprised us with. We went and picked her up yesterday!!

We haven't all decided on one name yet ( Me and mom like "Katy" and dad wants "Kacy") Who knows we might think of another one! Anyway she is such a joy to have around. SO playful and of course you have to watch her like a hawk! Getting into EVERYTHING!

Here are a few shots I snapped last night...more to come at some point

She had a sweater on as it was pretty much her first time ever being outside and of course it was cold and rainy

Tell your dad a bad girl in the news lately is named Casey and you want your dog named Katy instead.

Training begins NOW... enjoy your journey together. If you need any advice or tips, write me. I have been training dogs in obedience for 37 years and LOVE to help people with their new puppies. She will get big fast, easiest to start training now. A GREAT book is "what all good dogs should know" by Volhard. You will get a ton of information from that book that will help you with decisions. Puppies are able to learn anything at 8 weeks of age, they have the brain power, just lack the attention span, so keep training sessions short and happy. Lack of praise is the harshest correction a dog ever needs. They figure out real quick if they do what you want, they get praise and a reward... lack of praise and you can see the wheels turning to figure out "why?"

LOVE LOVE those photos, your girl is gorgeous. Dobies were my signature breed for 29 years. I have an assortment of breeds now, but my first dog I ever had that was all mine was a dobie named Max who loved to sing to the song "dust in the wind"... He was born on Christmas day and he lived 2 weeks short of his 15th birthday! Dog of my dreams. Enjoy your dog of your dreams

and best wishes.

Thanks so much! It's been about 4 years since we have had a puppy so we have to get back into the groove of potty training and all that other fun stuff. My parents have had dogs their entire lives so we know

But thanks for the info and advice! If we ever have a question I'll contact you
