OK hey everyone!

Sorry that I'm not on the forum during the week but I have so much to do all the time! It's spring alright!

Anyways for everyone that wanted to know how my situation is on getting a Mini well I'm going to lease a gelding and I'm so excited! I'm going to show him in some local shows around here! I'm so excited!

I'm going to take lessons on "showing" at the farm and does anyone have any suggestions on what to wear in the show ring?? The Gelding is a palomino paint any suggestions on attire??

Thanks!!

Is the horse a light , or dark golden color.

I always wear a dark blue with my golden guy, I think it makes a nice color combination.

It's a light palomino and he has excellent black points when he has "make up" on!

Like what should I wear?? Slacks and a blouse??

There are no set things you should wear. But you should have long sleeves

Some people dress up real nice with dress pants and long Jacket.

I wear a slinky and different jackets that match the horse. I usually show 2 horses that way I have their number on the jacket that matches the horse.

: So all I do is switch jackets when I change horses. It is easier than changing numbers on your back.

At shows that are real hot in the summer I ditch the jacket and just wear my black jeans with a nice belt and slinky. I also usually wear a cowboy hat. But most ladies do not. I usually do because I have one on in the leadline class and already have my hair smashed on my head :new_shocked:

The main thing is do not get to stressed out on your outfit. Just be neat, wear something that you can move around in easily, and remember to smile.

When you take your lessons. Ask them what colors they think will look nice.

Whatever you wear- it should complement the horse, not detract from it- not too flashy, not too bright, the Judge is judging the horses, NOT the outfits

rabbit i had to giggle reading your post. when i went to amha nationals last year i saw some of the brightest flashiest colors i have ever seen!! Men in lime green jackets etc. Their theory is that in those huge classes wearing something bright and flashy gets the judge to remember you and your horse. I have to say i am guilty too. I wore bright pink and black when showing a black and white pinto last year

I think for a palomino i would wear khaki pants and royal blue shirt

Over here, for a while, it was HATS!!!

The bigger, and flashier the hat, the better.

It got so you could hardly see the horse for the feathers!!

It's calmed down a bit now, and I wear the same whatever I show as I do not have time to change.

If the weather permits I will layer stuff up-

Smart white long sleeved blouse, Flashy waistcoat, smart Jacket.

That way I can peel off a top layer for each class.

And change hats of course

I prefer to win because the Judge as noticed my horse- remembering which one it was it what the NUMBER is for :bgrin

Always assuming the Judge is not dyslexic

Hey thanks everyone! And rabbitsfizz that post about the flashy outfits was pretty funny!

And the good news about the gelding is that he is also for sale so I might have to see if I can buy him after showing him!
