So I found a few old threads on skijoring but nothing real recent. Does anyone do this with their minis? I didn't even know it was a thing until today. I've been watching videos today and I think it's something Clementine and I could really enjoy. I've been trying to find an outdoor winter activity that I actually like but have come up blank. I don't like downhill skiing and am a terrible cross country skier but skijoring looks amazing! Does anyone have a set-up they care to share pictures of? I'm thinking of making my own.

I'm am also curious, however I'm terrible at skiing. Just curious, what about using something your could stand on like a dog sled. Why don't you see people use them with minis? Seems safer as you wouldn't have to negotiate around a horse with skies on nor attach yourself to the horse.

One last post b4 I sign off,

Ski-joring has been around for a long time. When I was a kid in CO, I often rode my horses (had 2 mounts that would pull a skier) and did the pulling. You couldn't get me on a set of skis, though!

There are a lot of folks that do different things in the winter with their minis - I've just noticed that the boards are REALLY quiet right now. A lot of the "older" folks haven't been participating and maybe the "newbies" aren't posting yet...

I wouldn't attach the mini to me, but I've seen (& done) some different types of snow play/fun with the little guys. If anyone has any new vids/pics to point out, I'd love to see. I enjoy watching the minis at ... great... cold in the way, can't remember. They SURF in the water when they get lots of rain and their paddock/arena has water in it. FUN to watch.

You would think a dog sled would work for minis, but I've never seen or heard of one attached to a dog sled!

I've noticed all the skijoring hip belts come with quick release snaps, and for good reason I'm sure, so I wasn't too worried about being connected to my mini. Especially since I'll need my hands free to steer

. I'm wondering where would be the best place for skijoring. We'd practice in the pastures first but I'm wondering if the cross country ski people would get mad about minis on the trails??? I see dogs bigger than my minis going along with the cross country people all the time. And their hooves shouldn't chew up a good packed and well groomed trail. There are also snow mobile trails but I think that might be a bad idea....
