I have had my mare, Reh's Oh Oh, for many years. I have had many foals with her and she is very predictable. I keep a foaling log, and year after year she has always been the same. Waxes before she foals, all the classic signs..... ....until THIS year....lol. She only had a medium sized bag last night when I checked her. We put up our cams last night and got everything adjusted as I have a mare due that I have not foaled out before and thought SHE might fool me and not give me any signs so I had her on the monitor. Now mind you, I have 3 cams and Oh Oh's was on, just not on my monitor as I didn't think she was close. So my husband comes in from chores this morning and says "You have 2 horses in one stall", me being still asleep said, "how did that happen"....lol. Thinking that some how one of the horses got out and put itself in with another.....lol. Then it clicked....lol. Everything seems to have went fine. The colt was bouncing in the stall when he went to feed Oh Oh. Dam is Reh's Oh Oh and sire is Samis Soap Suds. But I am not sure about the color. Grullo? He is a silvery with a hint of tan

So here are some photos ofOak Parks Oh Snap

Congratulations on your new colt! Does Suds carry the dun gene as well as being perlino? If not, your colt cannot be a grulla. He is definately looks buckskin though...at least in that lighting and in these photos!

Tami he is a very nice looking colt. I love his markings. oh BTW I also have that 4th SS foal I was telling you about at the Oktoberfest sale. I will send you a pic when I get him sorted out. Neglect case I am afraid.Got him,his dam and another colt I bred back.

Anyway your new baby is pretty cute...Congrats..

I am not sure by looking at Soap Suds if he is a dun or not. He has produced other foals with dun factor and Soap Suds dam was a grulla. I have always thought he might be because at times he seems to have a faint orange stripe.

Beautiful colt

aaaah how sweet. I love your new baby. Sneaky mare indeed! glad all went well for both mom and babe. Congrats!

I had to laugh, because that is exactly what one of MY mares did to me this year! Is it a conspiracy or what?

Glad to hear that your colt is just fine, as was mine. He's really beautiful, congratulations!

I agree with the buckskin color.

Mares do choose their own time, don't they?

I never mind finding them alive (though I hate missing the birth after waiting so long).

It is the alternative I dread.....

Very very cute, he looks buckskin, that line sure is dark though. Perfectly named, love it.

Congratulations.

Congratulations Tami! What a beautiful colt!

I think you need to give Oh Oh a refresher course from the Mare Foaling Manual!

Actually, I have decided it's never safe to trust these girls!

Tami Congratulations!! I guess your "Oh Wow" hopes came true

He sure is pretty! Hope he is all you dreamed of!

Best wishes,

Joy

Thanks everyone. I sure can't wait until he unfolds. Oh Oh's foal always take a bit to unfold. My vet calls Oh Oh's foals, "turtle" foals...lol. Said they have no neck and then all of a sudden there is all kinds of neck...lol....

I wanted a buckskin pinto so I hope he is, he just seems very dark to me for a buckskin. He has a definite dorsal stripe, as some of Soap Suds foal have had and still had as adults.
