We are back from the World Show. I can not believe that we were down there for 10 days, plus 4 days of traveling. I AM DRAGGING MY BUTT!!
It was so much fun to see everyone, but time went by so fast!!
I never had much time to watch the show; was clipping, bathing. shaving. I had a horse in the Auction. She needed to be clipped, bathed, tail and mane dyed and face shaved.
A weanling had to have the same treatment, then my yearling filly, then my yearling colt. UGH!!!
I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Barb Nelson on her AMHA Reserve World Champion: Riverdance's Monarch Surprise. Way to go Barb!! This was Barb's first AMHA World Show.
My yearling filly took 7th in futurity.
NOW FOR MY BIG NEWS:
Riverdance Scouts Black Tie Affair took an AMHA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
,as well as a 3rd in futurity. He was also just out of the ribbons in Amateur Level 2. (My fault he did not do better, but then there were over 20+ horses in the class, so I can not complain).
I have shown dogs for over 35 years, and I am having a heck of a time learning how to set a horse up right, or condition it right. I keep wanting to set them up too much under themselves (like you do a dog) or parked out like a rocking horse. :arg! One of these days I will get it right, (though I kind of did, finially for his World Championship.). But, like with my dogs (who were all owner handled to their Championships), I want to do it all myself. Train, groom and show. (or drop dead trying)
Pictures will be coming. They say about a week or so after the show.
