He had prostate cancer, diagnosed in 2004 and he just passed away on 12-16-07.

I have always loved his music, esp. "Run for the Roses"......I know, of course, horse related, right?

Anyway, I think I am in shock a little......so very sad, I just loved listening to him sing, and even

more shocking, he was only 56 years old.

Oh and my second favorite song of his, "Leader of the Band" wrote for his father who was also a muscian.

So very, very sad.

Aww, that's too sad. So young, and yes, he was very talented.

My thoughts are with his family....

Yes, I loved his music too! When I heard it on TV, I immediately thought of "Run For the Roses". You still hear it a lot in Ky. around Derby Time. It is so sweet it still makes me well up a little every time I hear it.

I loved Dan Fogleberg's "Same old Lang Syne"........Met my old lover at the grocery store...

So sad to hear he is gone.

I remember buying his album my senior year in high school. Loved that album! Lots of memories associated with it!

I was surprised to find out he lived in Maine-- who knew?

Both of those songs choke me up every time I hear them, which isn't nearly often enough. He was far too young.....
