Well, I bought my first mini back in 2002, and ever since then I have wanted to have a foal from him. That would be Mr. ALLADDIN.
For years and years now, I have not had the planets align in order for me to get a foal from a mare here. Yes I did buy some babies and some older mares, but things weren't right for one reason or another and in the only case where we did have a foal, it didn't turn out so well. However, FINALLY, I have a mare in foal to Alladdin! I am so excited for this baby, which will come sometime next March (she will be 320 days on March 9). The mare is the one I bought with her foal at side last year, Stepper. Here is her '07 filly, I am quite happy and proud of her! If Stepper can put this kind of foal on the ground with Alladdin, she will have her favorite treats every single day for the rest of her life. OK, she already gets that.
I also decided this year to breed Flirt! Yes, your old friend from last year who did so well training with Patty Cloke and helped me learn along the way also. I actually did breed Flirt to Alladdin also at first but she didn't take. So I decided to go a different direction, and ended up breeding Flirt to Alladdin's brother that I love so well, Mountain Meadows Bey Durango. Here is Durango's web page: http://www.gondolinretrievers.com/Horses/Stallions.html I am so excited to see what the two of them can produce, they both have wins and reserve championships right up to the world/national level in both country and single pleasure driving and are both gorgeous animals. Durango definitely does his job well, because he caught Flirty on the first cover! Flirt should also have her baby in March, she will be at 320 on March 21. I am sure her baby will have quite the 'tude, because its mama sure does!!!
I am absolutely delighted right now and will be holding my breath until I have both babies on the ground. OK, if anyone sees me turning a bit blue, you might want to pinch me, LOL!
FINCH MEADOW FARM IS FINALLY GOING TO HAVE BABIES!!!
